We can't take Conte. If he has to bench Del Piero we have an explosive situation for so many reasons. It's simply impossible to appoint him.

What do you written? In Barcelona was made possible by Guardiola? He knows it all because he played recently with footballers on the pitch. Conte is a capitan, a man of great character who is able to manage the group and has the respect of colleagues in the team, now in their care.
There is no such possibility that Conte risk, and put his name to Del Piero in the sense that it knows. He is a man of character and I am sure that you advise. In addition to JUVENTINO, or coach for Juventus in which the work is not just a job, but also a passion.

Conte is not ready yet. Maybe he could do well in Barca, but we are playing with a handicap, we need a coach who can deliver better things with lesser material, not just someone who "might" do a decent job...

Euro-Gasp makes Genoa pledge Sunday 17 May, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Genoa have qualified for the Europa League and Gian Piero Gasperini celebrated by pledging to stay for another year.

The Coach has been heavily linked with the jobs at Juventus, Milan and Roma, but announced he would continue on the Rossoblu bench.

I will stay at Genoa next season. We will try to create a competitive squad, albeit realising that this year's results will be difficult to improve upon,” said Gasp.

The 2-2 draw with Chievo today means they will be playing in Europe next term, but have all but lost sight of the Champions League.

“It is immensely satisfying, because this is only the second time since the war that Genoa have qualified for a European competition.

“The fans have been fantastic and it's only right they celebrate now. There are a few regrets over today's game, as it seemed to be cursed with the number of chances we had.

“At the moment, seeing as we have so many injuries, we should just be happy with qualifying for Europe and not have too many regrets about the Champions League.”

I don't think it was in Genoa's objective to reach a CL spot. They can celebrate playing European football, it was a great achievement. On paper, squads like Palermo and Napoli looked much better, hell even Roma and look where Genoa are.

They were so close to make CL spot, their latest results was the reason they failed to lose CL qualifiers spot. Look at the last 7 games' form:

1. Udinese - 18
Fiorentina - 18
3. Milan - 16
4. Palermo - 13
5. Siena - 12
Inter - 12
7. Roma - 11
Genoa - 11

If they have kept their form, and if they matched Fiorentina's points, they were one point ahead of us in 3rd position, and only 2 poinyts behind Milan. They had the squad and opportunity to make that happen. They beat us remember? and the points they lost most of them were against small teams, which they should have won it easily. I wonder how many years they will need to catch an opportunity like this again, then again they are a loser club, their chairman was delighted that they took more points than Sampdoria, that tells everything..

Based on their ojectives set at the beginning what they achieved is a success. If they had a chance to succeed even more and couldn't make it, then it's basically irrelevant.
