Sorry for using Pessotto as an excuse, even if it produced that joke

But my point is, what you do as a player MATTERS FOR SHIT when it comes to coaching. As someone already mentionned, Tardelli was the MAN as a player for Juve, way more so then Conte, Zoff also was Il capitano defined, but both are shit coaches. STOP judging Conte as a player and so on him as a coach only, nothing else.

If the board doesn't really care what the fans or players such as Del Piero have to say, then perhaps Ranieri would stay.

If so, then we have to hope for Conte. I'd rather take a chance on him than Spalletti who doesn't really impress me with some of his tactical decisions. Beautiful football for sure, but that's not all that I care about.

you're missing the point im talking as conte manager for Juve not lazio/fiorentina/inter all the other teams thats tardelli and zoff coached, all but Juventus.

being a good coach based on a good cv is one thing, but if you dont even have the player's trust or understand the pressures of the club then thats a failed partnership. look at lippi he won the respect of his players at Juventus, but not at inter, does that make him any less of a manager?

Conte at Juve would more likely to be a better manager than Conte at lazio or any other club for that matter

But you keep talking about players trusts or understanding the pressure due to his past experience as a PLAYER in the club. How about his competence as a COACH for Juve? Seriously, like you have zero demands on that? You just need to know the Juve inviroment to hack as coach?

    Juve: Ranieri is safe

Juventus have released an official statement stressing that Claudio Ranieri's position at the club is safe.

There were widespread suggestions that Ranieri would be axed should he fail to deliver the Coppa Italia.

And Juve were beaten by Lazio last night in what was almost certainly their last shot at silverware this season.

Some sources have reported that the Old Lady are lining up Roma tactician Luciano Spalletti as Ranieri's successor, but the club have silenced the voices.

Any talk about Juventus being interested in Roma's Coach is completely without foundation,” the statement reads.

There have been no meetings and we have no intention of appointing Spalletti or any other Coach.

“As we have stated on several occasions we are behind Ranieri and that hasn't changed after the Lazio game.

Stop comparing Conte's situation to Pep's too... One has no coaching experience with his come club... the other coached the youth side, and then inherited a terrific squad at the senior level... Bring in Conte now and he'll do zilch at Juve... Maybe in a couple of years he'll be ready...

Pep was a risk (even if its safer to take with a brilliant squad), and its one that paid off (usually doesnt), because its not only because he has a great squad, but the improvement he has made, the influence he has on the players and tactics are very tangible, he has shown himself to be a quite competent coach.

I still think he's doing great because of their team. They are in crazy form and I'd prefer to judge his abilities once he goes to some other club.

Agree but IMO Conte is even worse. His experience in the top level is zero, and right now we don't have such a good team to make the coach seem good.

There are certainly some deeper reasons as to why DD left, but not agreeing with the boards transfer policy is certainly one of them. I specifically recall DD saying he does NOT want us to sign Iaquinta(he was keen on Saviola at the time). And we signed Iaq.
I don't see this happening with Ranieri. Why? I don't know.
Because Ranieri is Italian. That why
