Thanks Elke & la_dynamite :)

It's going to be Friday inshallah, right?

.........

For those of you who don't have a clue what Ramadhan is, here's a little description from a news article.... If I find a more comprehensive one, i'll post it.

ًYou mean the 26th Scudetto right? ( 01/02 season)

If so, yes, I do have a couple of files and I can zip them and send them by email (though you should have a yahoo or gmail account because the total size is around 10MB)

PM me your email address :)

The calculation of an islamic "month" is different from the calendar, which we are used to. Ramadan can last 29 or 30 days. So even the length is different.
It's oriented to the moon and not to the sun. That's what makes the difference. That's why it moves every year and so sometimes it's in autumn, sometimes in spring,...

Yeah, you have to imagine that you start to fasten before the sun goes on, which starts in Arabian countries even before it starts for example in Europe. So in Paris for instance, you have a delay...
But the first Ramadan-day should be for everyone, which means Friday. So when Ramadan starts in the first country, the people in the other countries should join...

It's a bit complicated, but I hope you understood it a bit... These calculations are even a bit difficult for me. But most people have a calendar, so they can look it up, when they're not sure...or they call at a central to inform themselves (especially the people in Europe ore the US who have more difficulties)
