palladino is a decent player, but not more ...
in serie b he scored a few goals and i thought he might be at the right stage of his carreer to play in serie a this season, but his performances were just not good enough for serie a ... i think he wouldn't start as striker for any of the 5 top teams in serie a ... he has just to score goals ... i remember someone who said "wow, that was a great volley against portugal", but i think in that situation he chose the beauty above the goal .. he could have slotted the ball with the side of the foot in the short post, but he volleyd it in the direction of the keeper after chesting it down .. dying in beauty is not what u expect from a striker ... sometimes one hook, one back heel and one step-over is to much if you got the chance to just shoot...

I think Palla is a little underrated by you guys. He isn't getting a chance to shine at Juve right now but i think that he has alot of potential and if he gets the chance to impress he won't fail.

the question is, what does he need to shine ?

i think he got any chance he needed to shine ... he was playing in the right and left of the midfielder, on the wing and even his preferred striker position.

as striker you're measured by the goals u score ... where in this case, you have not much to measure ... he is just not the scorer type ... even del piero scored more goals when he was in that age.

technically and from the quickness he has he could be a good striker ...

Juventus has to win points or do you want to play Palladino in his favourite position and get 6th in the league, because we wait for him to adapt, despite having strikers that can instantly score and take us to the champions league ?

i think the success of the club is more important, than the development of palladino ...

It somehow seems that this is the only thing some of the members of this forum care about. I don't mean to be ignorant or something and i love just as much as you guys do, but when do people understand that we're not the juve from 5 years ago.
We're juve, you are right. But we are also a 'neopromessa' coming from B, and we're also a team who lost a fortune last year (and i really mean a fortune; no tv-income, no sponsoring, no international business, but wages more than 10 times as high as other serie-b teams) and we're a juve who lost half of his squad, replacing it by more or less average players.

The plan of juve management never was to come back to a and win the sscudetto immediately. every reasonable person could agree with that. Now we're all fans and we're all passionate about our juve, BUT we have to face the facts; If we can compete with inter/milan/fiorentina/roma next season, hold their pace in the title race (even if we don't win the scudetto) i'm fine. You can't expect more, no matter what your team's name and history is. it's just impossible. Our management may not be the best, but i'm pretty sure they have a 3-year / 5-year-plan built up, and they are sticking to it.

I hear everybody screaming "Buy this player, buy that one, Fire CR, get prandelli, etc etc..." even though i can understand your passion for juve, accept that there are people like secco, who think about this day in day out. Hell, it's his fucking job to do it, and he'll worry about it just as much as everyone of us, if not even more.

I'm getting a little sick about some people just critizising everyone and everything. As i said before in other posts, Moggy is gone, and we're not anymore in the position where we can look down on teams like fiorentina. We're on our way back to the top!

i think u should think harder...

we got quality strikers, so why would we let palladino start ?

if we did that, than we threw away the chance of getting champions league football and also would throw away the few good years we can expect from the likes of del piero and trezeguet.

no one wants to wait, just for the sake of bringing a youngster up.

and until alex and david retire, either palla is ready or we already got another player that could fill the gap.

personally i would not throw away del pieros or trezeguets last valuable years to field someone that just can't score ...


if you look at the statistics, then you see that even salihamdzic has more scorerpoints than palladino, although he plays a more defensive part...

palladino: 19 games, 1 goal, 1 assist
iaquinta: 16 games, 7 goals, 4 assist
salihamdzic: 13 games, 2 goals, 3 assists

that shows, that even a really average salihamidzic does score more often without being fielded as forward

So you would rather play nedved & del piero for 90 minutes every game (which clearly goes to their stress-limit) for another 1 (neddy) or maybe 2 (DP) seasons and then HOPE that we somehow have the funds to buy the so often stated 'new nedved' and 'new del piero'.

Let's see... replace del piero and nedved in one season with one of your agueros or diegos or god-knows-what. That will cost us approx 50 mio €. and then, they won't somehow win everything, they'll have to get used to each other and so on... and where should we take those 50 mio? and then, even if we would have 50 mio to spend on 2 players like that, do you want a team with a aguero up front and a molinaro to defend? that's just not the right thing to do.

That's not how managing a team works dude, and i don't consider myself a manager or something, i just try to add together the facts.
So the clearly more wise method would be to slowly but constantly integrate our youth players such as palladino, criscito, de ceglie, and the list goes on... By doing so, we can make small investments in other prospects, and maybe even the one or the other world-class starplayer.

We just are not anymore in a position where we can go at the transfer-market, look at the 26yrs old superstars at the peak of their career, and buy them. We CANNOT do this. and as much as i'd love DP neddy and trez to go on, they will be gone some day, and that day will come sooner than we all want it to

spot on but you have to remember we are fortunate to have a variety of age in our team just look at how much money Milan will have to spend when they have to replace about 8 of their key players in a few years time.

Thank you. You're right about that. Milan will have more trouble, but you have to consider that they have more money too. But still... milan tried to replace their ageing players didn't manage to (all the gourcouffs aso...). that's why they are not at the top of serie a too imo, but that's another story.

We have an middle-age of 28.something if i remember correctly, and that including players like novembre (20) Nocerino (22) chiellini (23). So i think it's still pretty high. We don't have much players at +/-26yrs. But it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

It's the right mix of old, world-class, experience leaders with fresh, young, willing to learn youngsters which brings us forward!

but (look at the bold part) seire A always has a higher age rate than other countries think about it Neddy, Camo, DP and trez are our older players but we can't do anything about that but hopefully next year the age rate will be lower due to the return of players like giovinco, marchisio and de ceilge

honestly i think giovinco will be a great sub for nedved next season and the season after that i have high hope of giovinco filling the gap of nedveds retirement.

for alex i guess we will at least have iaquinta who has a astonishig game/goal quota and then, there comes palladino ...

and the money that we we wont spend for midfielders (see giovinco, marchiso) will let us get a young prospect for the frontline for arount 10 - 20 M € ..
