That talk has brought us nowhere, instead it has even started to have a negative effect on us. How was it different when Milan and Inter had players like Kaka, Sheva, Ronaldo yet we still kicked their asses? We need to start realizing that Milan and Inter being shit has a big effect on our own business as well.

How exactly would a very strong Milan help us go further in Europe, are they going to loan us their players or how?

Just to set the record straight, I'm not in the Suns camp on this one. I just think it's stupid that people wish that the upcommers in the Serie A are traded out of the league, I'd rather see them in the bigger Italian clubs. By all means, Inter and Milan in a relegation battle is a very noble aspiration, but I'd just prefer them to have the relegation battle in a league which is attractive for the players we want to sign.

Scenario A.
Juventus want to buy you, they offer you almost guaranteed silverware and a decent wage + European football.
Milan and Inter are struggling in mid-table. Their players are leaving and they are a mess.
Scenario B
Juventus want to buy you, they offer you a somewhat decent shot at silverware and a decent wage + European football.
Milan and Inter are equals with Juventus. They are in with a good chance of competing for the title
So, how on earth does Scenario B entice a player to come to Juve whilst at the same time 'Scenario A' does not?
This whole 'More competitive league means more attractive league' concept is B.S
What actually makes sense is a league like the BPL gives clubs a fantastic opportunity at earning loads of money due to vastly superior T.V contracts and all that. Each of the top clubs can afford some top class players and it eventually leads to a league where plenty of teams have real talent in their ranks and THEN it becomes an attractive league.
2 or 3 Serie A clubs competing with Juventus and making our lives more difficult doesn't help us at all. Sure, it's better from a NEUTRALS point of view. But neutrals aren't the ones buying Juve season tickets or merchandise.
It's just one big myth.

I don't care for the rest of Serie A teams and usually wish them the worst whenever they play in CHL, but I understand you both and agree that a stronger league is better for all, as long as we are the strongest. Milan and Inter are a different case, though.
But then on the other hand you have Bayern, who are in a league full of meh teams apart of Dortmund. But that doesn't stop them being the strongest team in the world and attract top players.

If you listen to what Marotta and Agnelli say they've plenty of times said that they can't offer players more than 5-6m in wages which in todays market is nothing when competing for the top players. So just right there your scenario doesn't hold up.
And the average fan maybe isn't buying Juve merchendise but that is not where the money comes from. The big money comes from sponsors and TV revenue(especially from a global perspective) and if your product is a shitty one the money will be less. That is honestly not a very difficult concept to grasp.

It's true that it would make the league more attractive to foreign players but our current situation more or less makes us more attractive to all Italian players and all foreign talent currently in Serie A.

If we can ever manage to develop a strangle hold on Serie A and just keep winning and winning, eventually we can build a big enough brand and prestige to generate impressive revenues. From there, we can buy foreign players as well.

Great post. I'd also say more competition means that Juventus will strive to improve their game and up their level.
