There is a 'rumour' (as you put it) that originates in Scotland: That there's a monster that lives in one of their lakes known as the Loch Ness.

There's also a 'rumour' that a giant hairy ape resides in the North American forest known as Bigfoot.

In parts of Latin America people fear the creature known as El Chupacabras that drinks the blood of livestock. Sightings are reported til this day.

The difference is however that people cite this as evidence for Islam. Whenever i argue with a friend about religion they tell me "isn't it enough that Neil Armstrong heard the prayer calling on the moon" "Is it a coincidence that the Kaaba is the center of the world".
I can still cite islamic websites to this day that claim the Kaaba is the center of the moon.
Debating with Christians online is painful... with muslims in real life its on another level.
Christians are more used to getting their beliefs challenged than muslims are.
I know that this has to do with the geographic location of where each is concentrated and the education level difference.

But the guys that i debate with are students of Egypt's best 3 universities. Some are grown up Rich business men.
They seriously believe that these rumors are facts. And they challenge me to cite a source that says that its not a fact...
I always deliver :)

again, google any of the stuff i mentioned and you'll see how wide this is spread and you'll also see that its cited in some BOOKS as a fact. You'll also find video of Sheikhs preaching.
It seems like this does not happen in your country. However, Ask any of your egyptian friends and see their response.

Have they ever proven these 'facts' trough Hadith or the Qur'an? And saying that Neil Armstrong is a Muslim is hardly proof that Islam is the right religion so why does that matter? These discussions you seem to have with these people are so pointless. I'm sure that Islam has more to show to the one seeking the truth than Niel Armstrong hearing the adhan on the moon.

I never said that was the case. But generally the first thing you bring up in such a discussion is Science VS the Quran...
They somehow tend to think that they agree completely. Neil is just another proof of it.
