It marks a break in the pronounciation, to distinguish from the double e before it ;) Just cut off the ee and append a single e. Makes sense, no? ;)
So it sounds like a stutter??

No, it's a fluent legato transition from on to the other, just trying to point out that it's not 3 eee's instead of two (like in "weee" ;)).

somehow Legrotaglee-e

and Legrotagleee seam the same to me, even if i put a break between the ee- and the e cos in the same sound :undecide:

unless it's like Legrotaglee-a or Legrotaglee-ia ........

ok, i'm hopeless.... i know...... :wallbang: should i just make it easier and stick to Legro :p i'm killing his poor name here

but thank you for bothering to teach me :)

The point is that I'm trying to distinguish between the English e (double e) and the "European" [Italian] e (as in "jerk").

Anyone knows the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) here?

I'm getting more and more confused....

What about Ronaldo or Ronaldinho, some commentators says "Honaldo" or "Honaldinho". Which one is right, with R or H?
I say Ronaldo, but Koreans say "Ho-Na-Ra-Do"...but then again, that's Koreans

the phonetic alphabet thing just bugs me... who the heck can be bothered to learn all that

:cheesy:

Well I had to learn all that in Uni. It's related to my job. It was part of my training....

It can be useful though...

Yes, I'm sure it'd be very useful, but i just meant that it'd be so difficult to learn, and I wouldn't dare undertake such a knowledge quest of my own accord :sleepy:

btw what's your job (if u dun mind me asking)?

Nuh.....keep guessing but don't get too off topic here....:D

I'm still not sure how to say Legro's name though...

I followed Martin's info but the resulting sounds are funny for me....Probably that's typical for a Chinese who knows nothing about the Italian language...
