Oh poor you - I've been studying it for 6 years now and I still make a lot of mistakes English, French and Italian I never had any trouble with but German is just too unlogical..!

You still say "Gelukkig nieuwjaar"? That's cool! It got outdated here a couple of years ago, nobody uses it anymore.

"Ik zie je graag" is one of my favourites. It sounds so much better than "Ik hou van jou"

Of course we say Gelukkig Nieuwjaar We've never said Vrolijk Nieuwjaar....it sounds a bit strange imo, and indeed ik zie je graag sounds veeeeeeeeeery good
