IMO the person who will vote should not be a fan of any player.that's where things start to get biased most of the times.he will think because of his feelings or frustration.and even against coach.
the member could give a low rating to the coach for example, when he doesn't play the system he prefers,or if he plays it boring.things like that.or if he doesn't start with his favourite player.and would give a low rate for the replacement player.
There's no reason why someone who likes a particular player should be omitted from the panel as long as they are objective. Del Piero is my favourite player but that doesn't mean that I can't admit when he sucks. For example, I only gave DP a 6 for his showing against Brugge. If I wasn't objective he would probably have been given a 7 just because I like him and he scored. Objectivity is the key.

I don't beleive in 'objectivity', to be honest. I do not think it exists. One can be as objective as possible, but being completely objective is impossible. Unless you're a robot.. You will always bring your personality, experiences, biases(however small they may be) and mood into (in this case)the rating.

Seems you don't read lot of my posts after each game Se7en. However, you can relax, I'm gonna be fair If I was given the green light to do this.
Actually I do read a lot of your posts. All I'm saying is you are very biased towards Del Piero, but I guess that if you can keep that in mind there's not a real problem.

Thanks to everyone who put me on their lists, I'm truly honoured by the sentiment - unfortunately I don't get to catch anywhere near as many live games as I'd like, and as would be necessary for me to give consistent and accurate ratings.

Great idea though and I'm sure with Andy, Paul Denco and Stu if they all do it thats a solid base to make it work

True, that's why the team of player raters would need to be balanced. Some people are always biased to certain players, while other people are biased to others. The balance here is what's most important to get a fair rating.

Andy is Good at writting,he can tell you exactly what he is thinking in the best way, he can describe it right. But many times he is very biased, specially when it comes to Zlatan and Del piero thing, and Capello of course,Like I mentioned earlier.
Again snoop, I really don't think I'm biased when it comes to Del Piero and Zlatan. Some people must have a really short memory because when Del Piero was not in good form last season I told you lot exactly that, and gave praise to Ibrahimovic because quite frankly he deserved it in his first season in Serie A. About Capello, sure I'm not his biggest fan, however this is irrelevent in player ratings and people will always have reservations about the coach...you will either hate him or love him. And how is it fair to exclude someone just because he is not the biggest fan of Capello then choose a poster who agrees with the man no matter what...talk about objectivity.

But each to his own I guess.

Yeah, if anything Andy is biased in the advantage of Zlatan and the disadvantage of Del Piero, it's certainly not the other way around. And Snoop, you're hardly objective yourself, you're one of those Zlatan-Capello admirers and TBH they're even worse than the Del Piero lovers when it comes to objectivity. We need a team here that won't give Zlatan a 7 just because he did one nice trick.

And Snoop, why act so childish because you weren't put on a lot of lists? For all I care you can be in the "rating squad" instead of me, if you want it so bad.

Guys with all due respect to all of you, for such project to succeed, unity and respect of the others opinion is a must. Labeling each other of unobjectivity is just going to swerve us from the main objective and get us into petty squabbles. One must trust that members of team are doing their best to be objective given their reading and perspective of the team and performance on the pitch. Otherwise this project will ultimatly be doomed. So I would say that anybody who compromises the solidity of the group now or down the road shouldn't be in the team.
