a few goals like that wearing a juve shirt would be nice.

I think Barzagli and Pepe should both be looked at. chiellini and Criscito as back ups are good also.

grygera samuel barzagli chiellini(balzaretti)

that would be nice to have. Alternatives to Samuel are Lucio, Pepe, Metzelder and Cannavaro.

Pepe plays down Chelsea link

Porto defender Kleper Pepe has played down rumours of a summer move to Chelsea. The 24-year-old has also reportedly attracted attention from Real Madrid and Juventus, and Porto president Jorge Pinto da Costa admits his club may have to listen to offers for the Brazilian centre back.

However Pepe, who will qualify for a Portuguese passport later this year, played down rumours of a move to the Premiership.

"I remain calm about it because I have a contract here until 2009," said Pepe. "I'm only thinking of going to London to knock Chelsea out of the Champions League."

Pepe has played over 50 times for Porto after moving to the club in 2004 from Maritimo.

Only saw Pepe for the first time v Chelsea tonight and he was quite impressive. Dealt with Drogba pretty well, looked athletic and comfortable on the ball.

Juve add touch of Pepe
Tuesday 13 March, 2007

Juventus have stepped up their interest in signing Porto defender Pepe, according to the latest reports in Italy.

The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their squad in view of their likely return to Serie A and the Brazilian, whose full name is Kleper Laveran Lima Ferreira, is high on Didier Deschamps’ wish list.

The Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport reports that Juve are ready to do battle with Chelsea, who are also interested in the ex-Corinthians stopper.

The South American is a key man in the Dragons’ defence and his performances this season have caught the eye of numerous top club scouts.

Pepe, who can play both as a centre-back or as a right-back, moved to Portugal in 2000 and joined Porto in 2004, where he replaced Ricardo Carvalho.

“I am contracted until 2009 and I want to focus on the current championship,” he said recently. “I will think about the rest afterwards, I don’t want any drop in concentration for now.”

Pepe, who could also become a target for struggling Real Madrid, is valued at a massive £14m by Porto.

Although Juventus have struggled financially since their demotion to Serie B, the Old Lady may be willing to make such a huge sacrifice.

I have some serious doubts about Pepe. If we sign him, we will need someone really good next to him. Ah. I'm concerned if this is true. He's not bad, but, not that good I guess.

Imho i thought Pepe was pretty poor for Porto, he kept loosing his footing and looking lost....reminds me of a certain Boum Boum.
