People are missing the point here, it isn't like selling Baggio because we had Del Piero waiting, we have nothing if Dybala goes. Our play is so much worse without him and we don't know what Chiesa will be like when he returns. Look at the bigger picture, we're struggling to even get 4th place and people want him gone. Sell him when he has no worth to us anymore.
The other bigger picture though is Juventus being the leading club in salaries and 5th in the table. We pay tens of millions more in salaries than Inter, around twice as much as Napoli and Milan and around 4-5 times as much as Atalanta, yet we're trailing all of them. Obviously we're doing something very wrong here and need to change that with every new contract we sign going forward.

Atm we can't sell players because only at Juventus for some magical reason they're paid twice as much as anyone is willing to pay elsewhere. if we give Dybala 10m/season we're not selling him when he has no worth to us anymore, he's going down the Ramsey / Khedira / Higuain route when he has no worth to us anymore.

I agree and said since a lot.
He is a tactical problem for a team that spent bullshit money on wingers (Ronaldo,Bernardeschi,Chiesa,Kulusevski,Douglas Costa and Cuadrado) in recent years.
In fact we tried to sell him swapping him for Lukaku and the only thing that stopped the deal was Dybala ex-agent asking 40m to new teams to use his img rights.

So leaving everything off unless we switch back to 2man attack (3-5-2 , 4-3-1-2 you name it) where he shined (Mandzukic and then Higuain partnership) or he is better off somewherelse, giving we just spent over 100m on 2 wingers like Chiesa and Kulu (don't mind the fact that they play in the same position duh).

But yeah the only profitable way for Juve would be him renewing for his current wages and SELL IT. not trying and failing! but renew and sell.
Even if it's 35-40m.
That's the only way.

Losing him for free?
a total loss for us

Renewing for stupid money and making him unsellable to any other team?
a loss keeping him on huge wages till he retires.

Problem now it's way too late
and even if you renew you dunno if there is any team that in the summer would give us 40m and the asking wages to the player.
Signing him on a new contract and then selling him is pure fantasy.

3-year contract with 6 mil wages should be the April proposal.
I’d like his base salary remaining the 6.5-7mil it is now and give him another 3-5 mil in bonuses for progressively harder to achieve bonuses. Start with simple ones like 0.25 mil for appearing in 85% of matches or something. Then another 0.25 mil for 20+ goals, 0.25mil for 10+ assists. 0.5 mil for scudetto. 0.25 for each CL round past Rof16. 0.5 mil CL winning bonus. 0.5 mil for Balon d’Or finalist. Shit like that. Make his contract heavily incentive laden. But with the potential to be one of the top wage earners in the sport each year if he earns it.

Why should he reduce his wages? Or is that your idea of an April Fool's joke? Lame either way. Try again.
6 mil basic salary plus easy to achieve bonus for appearances for around 1 mil. Bigger bonuses for goals and asists. And 30 goals/assists equals 3 million bonus, 20 equals 2 mil and 40 equals - 4 mil.

For example his season under Sarri would bring him:

6 mil basic salary +
1 mil for above 2500 minutes playing time +
3.1 million for 17 goals and 14 assists = 31 goals/assists

Which makes 10.1 mil salary for this season.

Another example - the season under Pirlo

6 mil basic salary +
0 mil for playing 1300 minutes +
0.8 mil for 5 goals and 3 assists

Which makes 6.8 mil salary for this season.

Would you like Dybala to stay?
I don't mind him staying and I don't mind him leaving. Going to Inter is a big slap on the face for a management that I have been criticizing for years now and this move will be cherry on top for a series of failures, irrational decisions, lack of vision and planning and weird all in all considering what they did the years before.

I don't like that he sits out so much time during the season but I do like his contribution when he does. I would want him to stay with his demands if he were able to consistently deliver.

@Strickland I do agree but it looks like that because of Arthur, Ramsey and others more than Dybala. If you look at the returns on investment, you could say the others are 100% worse offenders than Dybala.

Also, how is Ronaldo's replacement Kean doing? We saved money on salary and how many goals have we sacrificed? If we want Vlahovic to replace Dybala we need to get rid of De Ligt to pay the transfer. This is a rebuild on a budget, we're not Man City.

Dybala most definitely is overpaid as well though. If we look at other teams, over the course of his current contract the players I'd put in one category with Dybala are Insigne (4.5m) from Napoli, Martinez (2.5m, since October 6m) from Inter, Gomez (2m) and Ilicic (1.8m) from Atalanta (last season Malinovsky (1m)), SMS from Lazio (3.2m), too lazy to list more, but you get the idea. They all have been on salaries and continue to receive salaries that Dybala fans like Bianconero81 would consider a bad joke if they were proposed to Dybs.

But the main thing with balancing our wage structure is balance in terms of squad, you can't give Dybala 10m season and then expect Cuads, who was 5 times the player under Pirlo, to sign for 4m/season or similar. As soon as you give a ridiculous salary to one it has a ripple effect on the other negotiations.

And the higher salary made sense while we were unbeatable, you want guaranteed Scudetto, you pay up. But this is the 2nd season in the row were we are not even in the Scudetto conversation and that has to have consequences, right now Dybs is just like Insigne or SMS, the star player on a 2nd rate team, I see no reason why he should get paid like a star player of the champion team. The same should apply to other high earners like de Ligt, Woj and Bonucci when it's time to renew them. I don't even want to talk about Rabiot, Ramsey or Sandro, the sooner we get rid of them the better.

That’s not 50/50.

Well fighting publicly ain’t good for anybody. This almost looks like we didn’t want to renew and were just looking for an excuse
Yes my bad for poor wording. I meant to imply that I'd be somewhat happy but not over-the-moon

This. His inflexibility is a headache and it's because of this that we can't play 433 for example, which is better suited for the players that we have. It's a shame that he couldn't fully adapt to the RW role

@Strickland correct but Dybala will argue that he's the most important player so he should be paid more than everyone else and that's De Ligt who's on something like 7M. It's management who screwed it all up and giving Ronaldo 100M, you can't suddenly say you're broke because we wanted to keep him this season too at 100M. Sell De Ligt, Arthur, Ramsey, Rabiot, Sandro and rebuild the whole team instead.
