The real reason we must extend is his value. Let's not kid around - COVID or nor - inflation is a state policy these days. His salary would be probably effectively halved by the middle of this extension. Then there is ''plusvalenza'' too.

Although the team is horrible these days and its difficult to shine in such circumstances, I honestly haven't seen Dybala as a top player for years now.

Oh stop it. He was world-class the first 3 seasons with Allegri and got there for 2 months with Sarri where he and Ronaldo won us the scudetto. Inconsistency is his issue. The reason we need to extend him under any circumstance is because we are already short in attack and if he walks for free with need to spend at least 50/60 million to get an adequate replacement. Unless you want to play Kulusevski.

Polak, Chiellini, Bonucci, maybe de Ligt, Cuadrado. Don't know about others but I think majority would leave, including Dybala.

Now when I think about it, maybe we should ask to be relegated.
You think Dybala would leave (he been here 6 years soon), multiple times professed how much he wants to stay etc. But you think De Ligt would stay? What do you base that on. If anything think De Ligt one of the first to bail. Raiola client, majority of his country see him coming here as mistake and is highly sought out after elsewhere.

Like I said, I actually think Raiola would be the only reason he'd stay because we're in such terms with him. We did him many favours too. Had it been some other agent, yeah, I would say so too. But I also think age would be a factor there. Dunno but I have a reason Dybala would want to prove himself and not spend his 29 in Serie B.

The only reason I'm not sure about that is just Raiola who might do us a favour. But he wouldn't stay for a long time, no, that's for sure. Maybe just one year.
What favors are you talking about? Like milking the club at every opportunity he gets? He's the same guy that took a 30% cut in Pogba's transfer fee for example. It's just business. If Raiola doesn't initiate the transfer, I'm sure De Ligt will. Dude has entire EPL chasing him and you think Raiola will do us a favor should something bad happen....
Regardless I still think he's out in a season or two anyways.

I think we managed to buy Pogba because of him. I also think we did him a favour when we bought that Cassano from PSV.

He made 30% of the transfer fee in the end. That doesn't sound like a favour to me. I'm not sure how naive you can be to think someone as highly sought after such as De Ligt would be willing to play in the 2nd division even if Raiola had any intentions of doing a favour for us.
Besides his wages become instantly unsustainable for us should something like that happen. Both the management and De Ligt would be desperate to part ways before Raiola could even do any special favours for us.

If we end up in Serie B only a handful will stay. Players don't want to be associated with a cheating club.

I would only expect chiellini bonucci to stay...the rest would request transfers and they would be sold for peanuts just like our stars were back in 2006.

As for dybala...we need to sign him asap so we can at least sell him should we need to. Him walking for free would be a disaster.

You speak in hypothetical. But didnt the same Raiola aggresively try to to persuade Nedved to sign for Inter when we actually went down to B?

Is that why his renewal is taking like forever?

That dynamic is tricky, the issue seems mutual, not just him, the club hasnt been keen to renew him it seems, and tried to sell him not long ago and he was the one who refused.
