There have likely been worst scandals leading to a massive fall from grace throughout the last few decades so i probably wouldn’t be that harsh on him although with this doping case he definitely completely shat on his legacy, individually speaking he certainly ended up as an ‘almost’ type, made lots of bad decisions/choices both on and off the pitch, but all in all his career was saved by delivering in a generational France team where Deschamps still used him at the center of his teams despite the misfortunes at club level, then ofc injuries took their toll too and the fact he might have shit for brains also played a big part in his downfall.
