It's nostalgia man. While he was here, he had very good performances so people have hopes for some kind of restoration.

Only few notice it's not his game that is the problem but his head. Dude's ego has grown exponentially over the years and that's not fixable if you ask me.

Pogba is better than all those three will ever be. All he needs is proper coaching, but everything that dude cares about is money, sadly. He's completely different player at France where he's always one of the best performers on the pitch. Putting in a shift for a couple weeks every other summer, or for a match every couple months for the NT is far different than consistently showing up week in, week out for 50+ matches over 9-10 months. This guy hasn’t done that for 5+ years now and turns 29 later this season. He’s done as a world class player at club level.

You’re right, he is better than those three will ever be. Far better even. But that doesn’t really say much. Those 3 are rubbish. Give me a young, motivated CM with big potential over Jogba any day of the week. This guy has turned into one of the biggest jokes in club football.

Ya I'm a fan of Pogba's. He consistently delivers for the French NT. But lets be honest here, after 4 different managers at Man Utd and around 5 seasons, even his biggest fan has to concede that he has to take most of the blame. Whether its a mentality issue or something else, I dont know. But "not being utilized by the coach" is not a good enough excuse if it has spanned such a long period.

Its a real shame, because in glimpses for Utd and a couple of seasons for Juve (except his last iirc?) in addition to NT games, he's shown that ability and potential wise, he could be one of the best midfielders in the world. But to be considered that, you have to turn in consistent performances on a regular basis. Whatever rationalization you have for him, he just has not done that.

Pogba would fit in perfectly to the left of Locatelli, the position Rabiot tried to play and which Arthur will try to play soon. LCM/LM in a 352ish 442 (AS going forward, Danilo staying back). Then youd need a runner to the right, someone who will do the work and attack the box constantly, and you have a great midfield suddenly. But he would have to take a paycut, for 15M or whatever he makes, its just too much for us at the moment. Thats why i dont see it happen

Sorry to say, but its just how it is. The guy is so massively overrated that it’s mindblowing.

Without any leaders next to him he’s not worth anything.

What does working midfield mean to you, because he played at his best in 15/16, and he didnt have Marchisio for 17/38 games, and Khedira for 19/38 games. He was especially good 2nd part of the season where Marchisio was out for the finishing stretch and Khedira missed almost half the games as well. The remaining options? Hernanes, Lemina, Sturaro. Would you say this is a working midfield?

His apologists still making excuse after excuse for this overrated, overpaid bag of shit. They still going on about what he did 6 years ago, or a couple games a year for the NT where Kante holds his hand. What he needs most is a working brain. He’s a lazy, unmotivated clown. The new Yaya Toure. Wouldn’t want him anywhere near our project as we rejuvenate the squad and bring in young, talented upcomers. Pogba is a cancer.

That being said, even if he does that, IMO it still doesnt excuse 5 inconsistent seasons (does my memory serve me right though, i think Ole's first season, Pogba was quite good? so maybe 4 inconsistent seasons)

It doesnt excuse ofcourse, whatever happens next hes always gonna have this on his legacy. He was at his peak in 2016, he could have went for the CL in barcelona, Madrid, PSG or staying put. He chose a weak team, probably bought into the Mourinho and Zlatan hype. Raiola, money, fame, huge fanbase, "home", dumbass friends like Lingard. A lot of factors, had they succeeded in waking up the fallen giant it would have turned out great for him legacy wise. But they didnt and hes alao to blame.

Having said all that, doubting him as a player i dont think is fair. First, he wasnt terrible there, he had his fair share of great games. And 2nd, like i said, he needs to be seen in a different envirovement first, before dubbing him finished or overrated etc
