Its ridicolous to think Pogba can simply be replaced by Pjanic, not only is skill level higher, but he is so damn complete as a player, which is why I said third, because his strenght, defensive ability and sheer powerful dynamicism is quality we will miss big time (his only weakness is mental aspect/tactical maturity). A soft physically weak technical playmaker isnt all it takes to replace him.

Pirlo was soft and physically weak, pogba was very skilled but his direct impact is seen mostly in scoring, which we will see also from pjanic in deadball situation. Pjanic is also a better assist man, as for the physicality I'm pretty sure we are getting someone

For me Pjanic easily replaces 70% of Pogba and that's good enough for me.
Higuain, Alves and whoever's gonna be the new CM will take care of the other 30%.

To be honest, I count his goals at mostly 25% of what he contributes in total.

This is friggin worse, we are losing a 23 year old that has potential to become an all time great midfielder. Zidane was 24 when we got him and we sold him at his height at 29, Pogba isnt even at his height yet and could been amazing for us for so many years. Defenitely harder pill to swallow for me, and I say this in comparison to Zidane who is the most breaktaking player one could have the pleasure of seeing on a pitch.

He replaces a third of Pogba, the creativity/technical part, Pogba is so much more then that. Complete and utter beast.

I understand for normal people like me why it would be difficult to to turn down 3x higher salary, because it could change our lives. But what I don't understand is how does it matter if you earn $150,000 a week, or $400,000 a week, your lifestyle and standard of living is not going to be any different at all!
I would much rather earn $150,000 a week at a place where I can win more stuff than $400,000 a week because let's face it, what is it that I can't buy if I earn $150,000 a week that I can buy if I earn $400,000 a week?

There's no difference in lifestyle. I'll eat the same, live in a similar house, have similar holidays, drive the same cars and even fuck the same women.
I never understand footballers or any celebrities at that high level of earning who switch jobs for little more money since from an economics perspective, your lifestyle's improvements start to show diminishing returns.

There's nothing that Buffon won't enjoy or be able to afford that let's say someone like Messi or Ronaldo would be able to afford. After you earn around $70-80,000 a week, it's just numbers and has no impact on your standard of living when it starts going up from there.
