Notice some of the responses he is getting and let me know if you get my drift. Either way, as far as Pogba goes, you me and Zizinho have had a discussion at length, wonder what you guys would make of it if it came to fruition. I personally think it's a huge u turn if Pogs makes the move but I cannot hold it against him, just an excessive amount of money if true. It's like the players who move to Qatar and China. The only difference is he's moving to one of the big clubs/brands compared to China or Qatar. So I would not be surprised with the fee at stake. Would I be disappointed? Yes. But I'm guessing Juve's over activity with the Higusin type move maybe the first sign. Another signing to come after this if it happens. My reading on the whole though, is that I don't think he will personally want to move but the club know this a huge opportunity. Maybe it's mutual. Maybe it won't happen, but I would like it to end one way or another. I hate this shit.
I agree with all of this. This move is entirely about money. If ManU had finished top 3 this past season and was in CL, they might be an attractive destination outside money... But playing Europa League, missing CL 2 of the past 3 seasons now.... The premier league in general underperforming in Europe for 4-5 years now... Mourinho teams falling apart at both Madrid and Chelsea. There's very little reason for a world class player like Pogba to move there aside from money. Of course, the league is still the richest league, and has 4 CL spots, so it's not like moving to China...
I'll be disappointed, but I see it laying the foundations for another 5 years of outright dominance in Italy and making us a perennial CL semi finalist or better, dependent upon luck with draws. I think this is coming whether we sell Pogba or not.
I'll be surprised if he leaves this summer and takes that at least temporary step back in his career, competitively speaking, but the amount of money being talked about makes it pretty damn tempting for both player and club.
To be honest, I just want this bloody Mercato to be over, one way or the other.
