well put. i'd just add a couple of sidenotes. most football players are like any random people: they'll work for the company that pays better. of all leagues, pl clubs can offer the highest salaries, and mu is the richest of them all. also, pl happens to be the most hyped league of the world, and when no team is guaranteed a cl place, it has to be said that it's a fairly competitive league (or full of choker teams, we can put it that way too). also, chances are random players and their relatives rather speak english than italian, so for most players it's easier to settle in england than italy. the italian environment (stadiums, their attendance, the ambiance in a stadium) is easier to adapt to, and it has to be said italy cannot properly handle racism - having a racist president of their own federation, this comes as no surprise.that said, juventus for the next couple of years cannot be considered as a step down to manchester utd.
