And Cannavaro isn't the first person to mention Pogba still has much to prove lately. A little harsh, a little reactionary. I remember thinking last season, before he did his hammy against Dortmund that he was really almost there. He'd been so consistent up to then and I wouldn't have considered him particularly immature or selfish. I don't remember any long or bad form slumps up until the beginning of this season. With the onus now on him, he seemed confused as to what he needed to start doing differently from seasons past and ended up sucking for a while. I reckon he didn't need to start doing anything much differently, just keep his head down and keep improving as he had been. He didn't need the added pressure of Marotta and Allegri publicly reiterating his new found pressure in the media. I'm sure that didn't help.

But his slump is over now, he's played with more maturity than ever without compromising his quality. Maybe he's only really dominated a few games (since his slump) but between those games he played more than solid, mature and responsible football and managed to set up several goals with moments of magic.

All players have form slumps, so it seems a bit harsh to say how far he is from being complete. He's not too far. I think a lack of goals has made him seem less effective this season than seasons prior but he's set up and assisted plenty. All he needs to do now is improve defensively but maybe he was never going to become that kind of player anyway??

First goal, held up the ball with technique, and heeled it to evra for the assist
Second goal, insane pass to dybala, wich basically decided the game

This is what we consider "out of form pogba"

Can we stop doubting this guy ? thanks

This was definitely not his game...becuse of the horrid turn overs.... but had like 4 or 5 key passes.

Mixed game. But at least delivered in one of his bad games... so in his good games he should be obvs better

I liked how all game he's like looking to the offensive, looking to receive passes, but isnt pressing aggressively.
Conserving himself for when he receives

Untill we scored that second goal, and we just needed to not concede. Suddenly he was sprinting all over the place, tackling and duelling everywhere, pressing like crazy. To protect the result

Liked it very much

His passing was crazy good this game.I mean compared to the usual Pogba.

Played some great through balls to Evra and Dybala.

He'll be a hell of a player if he becomes consistent in his passing/improves his passing range.

Pogba had an average performance yesterday and still was directly involved in two of the goals.

He created goals against Man City both home and away which basically sent us to the CL knockouts,

he also started this whole win streak with that pass to alex sandro who played Cuadrado through in that derby against Torino.

Basically he's been instrumental in almost all our goals this season, in my estimation this guy is more reliable than all the others put together. At the end of the day, he's going to make an important play which puts us in position to win crucial games. Thats greatness right there.

He reminds me a bit of Cristiano under Ferguson. Not in terms of playing style or goals, but Ferguson would never ever bench Ronaldo or sub him. All the others, Rooney and Tevez among others he would sub, but never Ronaldo. He just knew he was too special. Allegri has that same kind of fascination for the player, and rightfully so.
