Suck it, suckers.

True.

But still, in their case the deeplying playmaker is just another way to attack and be unpredictable for them. We play with Asamoah and Licht on the flanks, making it much harder to attack in a smooth manner so to speak.
I adore PSG's offensive talent. I'd love to grab half of it and deploy 4231 at juve

I do think we could work on having asamoah and licht race forward on counters faster. But will their stamina hold it.

Licht in his killer games does that sometimes. And god he's good at it

Such as? We've won two successive scudetti and are on our way to win a third one without having to spend like our competitors. We've had one bad CL campaign and one good one. Thats definitely not bad at all.

Barca plays slow paced possession attacking football and they do have a deep lying playmaker with a false nine.
Madrid have been less successful than we are despite having an infinitely bigger wallet.
City's attacking play gave them one EPL and a Cup and 2 CL group stage exits.
Arsenal's attacking play gave them nothing for 8 years.
United have one EPL to show.
Chelsea has one EPL to show and they won by the CL by playing Ultra defense.
PSG has one ligue 1 title and they do employ a deep lying playmaker.

Bayern is the only fast paced attacking team that has been consistent over the last 3 years.
We've done really really well since Conte took over. Our game plan has been very successful locally and hot/cold in europe. Most fast attacking teams have been much less successful locally and slightly better in Europe (considering that we crashed out this year)
BLOOM!

Well said.

PSG also uses Ibra and Cavani. And offensive wingers.

The way to move forward is by actually moving forward imo. Teams are finding a lot more success by playing fast paced and offensive soccer. What we do is hard to watch more often than not.
Shut up. You are making the rest of us look bad. :D

Doesn't matter anyways because with our under-achieving, European experience lacking head coach we will never win anything but the league.

3-5-2 :touched:

Hist is the number one disciple of this most hallowed of formations, and I am his acolyte.

Forza Conte and his successful integration of this formation into or team.

I do want Verratti, just not at the expense of Pogba. Give him two more years in Paris, he gets fed up/bored, and after the frogs introduce some ridiculous new tax system, he demands a move to Juventus, and Pogba stays. Verratti would be 23-24 by then, Pogba 21-22, and Vidal 28

It works in Serie A because almost no Italian teams play with wingers. That's why someone like Gervinho is having such success because current Italian defenses are not used to facing wingers and the 3-5-2 is poor against wingers.

Hence, why we blow in Europe. We have to switch to a formation with width like 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

You might be too young to remember, but I have some VHS tapes at home to dispel this myth that the 3-5-2 is weak against wingers. Maybe I should mail you a couple, and perhaps then, and only then, might you understand how solid the 3-5-2 is, even against teams with wing based play.

I don't think our formation let us down in Europe. Not to extent that people on here go on about.

We failed in the CL because of our mentality and giving way too much respect to crappy teams like Galatasaray and Kobenhavn.

Our formation hasn't failed us, our play and attitude at times has failed us. Even last year against Bayern when we were destroyed by Ribery and Roben, we still did better against them than the other teams that played against them. Even the teams that played 4-3-3. To blame the formation is far too simplistic. I do however think that we may potentially need different players to get the best out of our formation but simply changing to a 4-3-3 will not be the answer to all our European problems
