His short passing isnt good enough. His agility isnt good enough. He doesnt have the quick passing vision. He didnt show any ability to do trough balls. His off the ball movement isnt efficient enough.

Just think about Ozil, Gotze, fabregas, Mata, Silva, Isco.

Pogba,has an excellent long ball, excellent ball controll, decent dribbeling, good forward runs from midfield and a very good shot.

how often was pogba deployed or even asked to play through balls? if he has the vision to lob he damn well has it to pass it on the ground. As for technique and dribbling, paul is better than the 20 yo zidane.

Pogba due to his role, is close to the opponent penalty box many times, or receives the ball halfway. He could have done plenty of attempts, but just didnt. Vucinic on the other hand, instinctively does them, cause he's rather good at it.


Having vision for a lob is entirely diffrent. You dont need to split open a defence. You need to be able to curve the ball away from the defender in front of you, but at the place where you see the attacker moving to. Because its in the air, the vision component itself is much easyer.


And i dont agree about zidane. His technique was allready outstanding at bordeaux.

Pogba has a graceful still with his foot work but tackles hard- his shot is hard and accurate, good in the air and very intelligent. I think he can definitely become the best midfielder in the world

i don't understand your post.. so because someone is not as good as zidane, they can't play in that role? it doesnt work that way, and you know it. you can't do this sort of comparison.

bro, pogba doesn't do such things because he still generally plays much deeper than zidane, isco, and the half others player you mentioned who spend most of their time in advanced positions.

as for through balls, today he gave a defense splitting one that tevez wasted. i can think of a few other chances he created for llorente and others in other matches.

the reason you don't see many through balls is because llorente and tevez generally play with their backs to goal. hard to do that when no one is running.

the second reason you don't see many thorough balls, is because you, and others like buck fuddy jump at any chance to criticize him when he makes a mistake. so if a through pass attempt is intercepted, the common response here is "he should keep things simple, and cut the holloywood acts". these are your own words by the way, so you cannot say you wouldn't say that
