If it's true I don't think it's a bad move at all

Sure in our wage structure, that's close to the top. But he's one of our key players now. And if we offer him something like 2m/season, how unsettled do you think he will potentially be when Madrid and Co come in with 6-8M per season offers?

Might aswell lock him down ASAP. In 3 years time he may end up being the best midfielder out there. And he'll be with us earning 4m per season.

He makes 600k right now it makes absolutely no sense to jump to 4m at his age. He hasnt asked for that money so I think 2.5-3 is enough

How do you know he hasn't asked? And yes, it does make sense to jump to that considering he's one of our best players and will have plenty of teams try to lure him away. And I don't see how age is an issue whatsoever.

He is on a contract with us until 2016, we can renew his contract in the summer of 2015, there is no reason to give contract to him with such a huge salary right now
Yeah, but if he doesn't like the contract he can just go to another team. That's the dumbest reason I've heard for not renewing it.

Loyalty works both ways. Sure, Pogba is contractually obliged to respect his contract, but as for the club-player relationship (which it's important to keep in a healthy state), our management must also loyally monitor the player's worth and pay him according to his worth. A club doesn't have an impetus to constantly renew contracts for minor increases in value, every player understands that, but when the increase is substantial (as is the case with Pogba), Juventus must seriously consider giving him a new contract way before 2015. If we leave Pogba on 600k per week until 2015, relations with the player will break down and he will either see through his contract and leave on a free bosman without renewal, or he will force his way out for a low transfer fee. This is a disastrous situation for the club. It's better that we tie him down as soon as possible. He could easily get 3-4m per season elsewhere right now, so that's what we should offer.

So then by the age of 24 or so should we offer him 8m? Just to keep him?

If he deserves that kind of wage then yeah. What kind of world do you live in that makes you think we can pay someone as good as Pogba shit wages and expect him to stay?

We are not Real Madrid, 4m per season is a huge salary, Pogba is not even starter, our main trio in the midfield zone is Pirlo/Vidal/Marchisio, hate it or love it, even Raiola is keeping silence about renewal, no reason to discuss it now, maybe in the next summer, but not now, we even have problem with Vidal's renewal on today

I very much doubt Juve will be offering Pogba 4m a year straight away.

What I could see happening, is Juve offering a contract where, over several years, his wage gradually increases to 4m, with the salary at the start of the contract being something more like 2m.

didn't someone say pogba has the second most minutes after barzagli this season?

and the team obviously thought it was a worthwhile investment so there you go
