Agnelli just wants to have some fun and offers to reject in his mailbox. Should we let Pogba leave, it will not be to consolidate, but rather to spend it on different players.

"If I was to judge it from a footballers' point of view, Italy is no longer the final destination but a transit destination," he said of the fall in Serie A's standing at the Leaders in Football conference.

"I am trying to think what will be of us in two or three years' time if we get a massive offer for one of the best talents we have today, Pogba, the French 20-year-old.

"Would we be able to retain him? I don't know. I don't think at the moment we have the strength to retain such a player.

"Look at what happened to Milan. They had to give away Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to pay the cheques.

"At the end of the day you can be attractive, but you also need to have the economic strength."

His first statement is correct. With Pogba's talent, he has all the ability to develop into one of the world's best some years down the road. Looking at Serie A's current state,if things don't improve, Pogba will want to move to a bigger league. And if you get a good enough offer that not only sells your best talent for a handsome amount, but also allows you to purchase some other top quality players with that money, makes perfect sense, rather than taking the risk of forcing him to stay against his will, and the player eventually leaving on a free transfer. Monetarily, the club and the league is not as strong as the EPL or La Liga. So the best players in the world will want to play there eventually, no matter how loyal they are too Juventus or the Serie A. Pogba's loyalty and warmth towards Juventus is all good, but if you want to take your career to the next level, sadly Italy isn't the place to do that right now or in the near future.

What pisses me of the most is not about us not being able to keep Pogba. I get that, if a bid of 70m came in he should be sold. What I don't like him saying is when he said that "Serie A is just a transit destination to something better" which is sending out the wrong signals.

Any team not named Barca, Real or City would sell their player if a bid of 70m arrived but implying that players should aim higher basically he is saying that players should leave as soon as any big team shows interest as if we were not Juventus but some team in France or Holland. Juventus should be considered a final destination for a player unless there are teams out there willing to pay an astronomical fee to get you because we want to you to leave. Not because some random big team like Chelsea shows interest and you wanting to leave because you are considering them as a step up in your career.

Well that was silly, Pogba comes out saying how much he loves Juve, and his reward is for us to come out and say that we will accept an offer if big money comes?

Agnelli is trying to reverse the trend of Serie A being left behind by the likes of the Premier League, he's not kept that quiet since 2010. There are a lot of backwards people in calcio, be thankful someone is trying to make things better instead of ignoring the problems.

The first step to solving a problem is recognizing you have one. We can defend serie A as much as we want and talk about how it's tactically superior than other leagues. However, at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter. The truth is very obvious. Serie A under went a dramatic decline in quality and attractiveness and we are at a point now where we are so far behind the best that it's going to take a very long time to cut that gap.

Serie A will eventually be back to where it was. It make take 40 years or it may take 5. People like Agnelli who are willing to go and speak the truth and are willing to make drastic changes in the league is exactly what's going to eventuate a situation that is closer to 5 years rather than 40. I applaud him for that, and I hope the FIGC wake the Fuck up.

They can start by making serie A an 18 team league again. And italian clubs should follow our model to start making their stadiums more attractive.

It's still sending out the wrong signals to potential signings and guys already on the team. The fantasy of a prestigious Serie A is still being bought by some big time players like Higuain or Tevez. But with statements like that it will become less and less.
