The injuries, age and wages put me off. We've had this problem too often before.

There is absolutely no guarantee he can get anywhere near his form that he had here. It has been a long time since he's played near that level. I'm also not convinced in the France argument. He's had 1 goal 2 assists in his last 22 Internationals. He had a couple of excellent games in the Euros but again he hasn't done it consistently.
The injuries are rightfully a concern. The age doesn’t matter to me, we need players with more experience aswel to balance things out. The wage might not be that shocking with the tax benefits.

But I like the option of saving money and take the gamble, knowing that we’ll save some money for another good signing. So Frattesi + Pogba > SMS for example

You may see 9 assists and think "great" but it's not so great when he has one great game getting two assists at a time, followed by four straight games where he is nothing but a liability. Injuries aside, his mentality is the real gamble.
Yeah, but there's clearly a level of comfort/respect between him and Allegri, so I trust that we would see the best version of him more often than not, whatever it may be. Every player has dips in form, its natural in a long season.

It's more than just one season with him.

Maybe Max can help him but idk man, seems like wishful thinking. A supposedly elite athlete can't get his shit together on his own and there's only one coach who can save him?

Pogba has 9 assists this season, or in other words more than all our other midfielders combined.

Looks world class to me.
Majority of them came in the early rounds and it is the same question the level of Consistency and injury issues along with huge wages. Again the question what does are scouting team do? Aren't there good box to box midfielders outside of serie a.

Comparing his stats with our midfielders shouldn't be the benchmark. There are a ton of midfielders with better stats than our midfielders.

I can pull a stats sheet out of my arse and make a player 'look world class'. That doesn't tell the whole story.

He's largely been a bench player for most of the 2nd half of the season and barely featured in big games for United even when he was fit and fully available.

Seems United have had enough of his shenanigans and have told him to fuck off.

When a struggling United don't want to rebuild with him in the side, I don't see why we should rebuild our midfield around a player like him, his past aside.

If that was the case, we might have as well extended Dybala's contract and build the team around him because of his past achievements and not his current level.

“ignore all the stats because it doesn’t fit my narrative.”

If what you were saying were true he wouldn’t have top clubs after him. So what gives?

Very interesting indeed.

If man u paid that much to retake him from us WHY? he MUST be great right? So why are they not keeping him now?

Bringing this clown back here is the equivalent of eating shit.
Some experts here believe he's worth it.
:D

Interestingly, Smith claims that Juventus were, at the time, willing to accept just £20m for Pogba – a fee that Raiola managed, through shrewd negating tactics, to inflate four times over.

“The biggest question with him [Raiola] though was always ‘how the hell did he get £40m [in commission] out of the Pogba deal to Man United?’,” Smith added.

“Well, and he said this to me over lunch one day – ‘Juventus were prepared to accept just £20m for Paul, so I put in various different clauses and I got the price up to £40m, then up to £60m, then eventually, I got them £80m. £60m more than they originally wanted. How bad is it that Juventus rewarded me for that?’ – and he was right.”

If you think his 9 assists makes him world class then why are United so keen to move on from him?
And what top clubs? You mean a marketing meme club like PSG?
