i said this is a good "park the bus" formation that scores a goal every 5 games.

This means its a good formation to play at the end of a game when digging in in front of your own goal.

However, since we dont have a striker in the team that can actually operate as a lone counterattacking forward, it would have a very hard time to break out and score.
Matri isnt technically good enough for it, and to slow
Vucinic is, but he is FAR to slow
giovinco would get knocked down when he received the pass

quag is fast and technical enough, but he'd shoot from 50 meters, with a chance of scoring once every 5 games

Hey I like it!!!

But use Marchisio as an SS. He's smarter, quicker, has more technique and shoots better than any of our SSs. His moving off the ball is great. This could actually work...

Our only issue would be imposing our high pressing game in the first 30 mins if we started with this formation. How would you suggest we get around this problem? Mabye play Pirlo at CM for a change?

That's what I was wondering to. How can we start with a formation like that if we always play 3-5-2. RUS makes no sense sometimes.

The only reason that formation would work is if we used it to close games or something. Sorry RUS, but we can't start with a formation like that. It's ridiculous. We can however, close using it. Maybe that's what you meant???

Hmm I think it could work from the start, but only if we moved Pirlo to CM. it would be quite a drastic change to make, sure. But I think it's the kind of switch that would improve the work of the team. Besides, I believe Pirlo could do well at CM. I really do think so
