Intersex or DSD is defined differently by different people.

You even have groups saying hypospadias is an intersex disorder. It is definitely not an intersex disorder and these people are simply 100 percent male and almost always identify as such. But given that it is the most common congenital disorder among men and it involves the genitals, it allows special interest groups to really ramp up the numbers.

Regardless there are real intersex conditions and whatever the percentage is, there are obviously quite a few people afflicted given that they are such a hot topic at the Olympics.

I think the percentage is pretty relevant, especially if it's being inflated x1000's. And though i empathize with their affliction, the organizing bodys first and foremost priority is the safety of the participants.
There are 2 variable here: skill and strength. And even if the skill discrepancy is not significant of even inexistant, the strength discrepancy on its own can lead to dangerous outcomes. So though this algerian boxer is not a man when it comes to making babies, it's clearly a man when it comes to boxing and should not be competing with women.

So turns out home girl has 9 losses and only four knockouts. Fought in the Tokyo Olympics and made the quarterfinals. For an amateur that’s mediocre.

Obviously the added test probably helps on some level but are we as an audience overreacting to the situation? Shes no Ivan Drago.

You can't just look at the results and deduct from that. Results are meaningless, because you're comparing with the most talented boxers on Earth. It'd be like saying you cannot possibly be doping, when you are outrun by Noah Lyles. That's not how it works.

You'd have to compare her with herself on less testosterone (which is an impossible comparison to make).
