I don't think biological males should compete in women's category. It's too much of an advantage, especially for those who transition after puberty. As terrible as it is to exclude folks from sports they love, it's unfair to other women. Intersex is a lot more complicated question.

I'd agree with that if not for the fact if a woman is born a woman and has some intersex congenital mutations -- as have naturally happened in nature throughout species -- it's not the same as saying they're trans. They chose none of that.

Because there you have someone who isn't asking to be referred by some weird identity -- they just want to fit in as a woman.

That forces society to tell these people, "No, sorry, you're a mutant and you can only play sports with the dudes who chopped off their wieners."

The problem with a "create other boxes" mentality is that 1-2% of people who are intersex shows that it's a spectrum rather than a binary all or nothing. How you draw those boxes will always force questions of "is she or isn't she?", and then it comes down to really arbitrary decisions to force people into convenient buckets.

It is man telling nature that it's wrong and broken rather than the models man has about nature being what's false and broken.
