What you need to realize is that the club is forced to have homegrown players in the team, as stated in the Uefa regulations. I believe it's currently 8 out of 25 players minimum, but I'm not entirely certain about the numbers.
And out of those 8, half of them need to be trained/formed within the country & the other half need to be formed/trained within the club.
