Messi, Rooney, Pato and even Fabregas have stated the "new" word thing isn't really good and healthy to any player. It puts nothing but a pressure on him and lot of expectations when he's still in a certain age and delicate one to be more clear.

i agree it isnt the best thing to get a player hyped up too much, but imo its good to compare these players, gives them extra motivation to live up to expectation and show that they are equally if not a better player.

I don't see the humor in making fun of players dubbed as being someone else. That's just what newspapers do to sell paper. The point is that the players are good enough to be regarded as the 'new' someone, never mind the comparison.
