Dont forget all his assists.
Yeah, many, especially the one against Madrid.

Who said Zlatan does not show up in big matches? All of the matches since February have been big matches. Every single point matters when we are tied on points with Milan for the Scudetto.

Who has said Zlatan is the best striker in Serie A? Who has said Zlatan is better than Shevchenko or Adriano?

It's just absolutely ridiculous calling our best forward on the year overrated, especially in his first year at Juventus. Quite frankly it makes little sense because nobody is comparing him yet to the best goalscorers in the world like Shevchenko or Adriano.
Ah well there you go. People make up their minds in different ways, from different sources. You may not think he's overrated and that's fine. I could disagree. Anyhow, it's entirely about personal opinion, what's the big deal?

I don't have a big issue unless people don't see the facts clearly.

It just boggles my mind and people seemingly are not looking at this issue without some sort of goggles on.

Depends. We might praise him every time he gets a 7 by gazzetta and stuffs like that, but we also put him down when he aint having he's best day.

Most Swedes agree that our best player is Freddie, Larsson second and Zlatan third.

True, But then it depends on the way one is rated....
This year people all over the place are saying zlatan is as good as van basten....

If thats how people rate him.... Then yes hes massively overrated... He aint good enough (yet) to clean marco's boots.

So if people are saying hes that good... then really he has to be over rated and definately the most over rated player in our team as no one else is rated close to that highly.

But then if your gonna pull out the stats like you did then.... How come its ok to do down dp all the time, who if we go by 'facts'.... Is the most decisive striker in serie a (He made 25 points for us... far more than zlatan for example) He is also a very very close second in the goals per minute table.... But thats not good enough

Also interesting how people go from criticising zlatan to him being the greatest thing going on the back of a hattrick over the mighty lecce... hows their defensive record?

    Its all subjective anyway

I live in Sweden who follows Zlatan to the bone, and I'm sure ive heared every quote linking him to Van Basten. I haven't heard one singled time when anybody's said he's as good as Van Basten, just that he has potential TO be as good as Van Basten and that he reminds of Van Basten.

Goal and Assist wise he's made a better debut in Serie A than Marco so far, lets just leave it at that. ;)

A lot of Van Basten in this text. :)

On this forum at least nobody is comparing Zlatan to Shevchenko or Van Basten. I think Paolo Maldini was the person who compared Zlatan to van Basten, however he stated that our Swede is no where near Marco's level YET. There is a huge difference there. I don't know how the Italian media treats Zlatan however I doubt they are calling him a better player than Cassano or Gilardino, so there is no case of "overration" in this matter.

But if we are talking about what people say on this forum, Zlatan is not overrated. Infact most of the time he's criticised more than praised, something I know there is only one reason for.

Personally I don't down DP all the time, it's just that he always comes up in the discussion about Zlatan. Alex is an important player for us and has had a good season in goalscoring, although average in everything else. However when you compare two players you have to look at the broad scope of things, not only the goal scoring records. Del Piero has done a lot for us this season, however so has Zlatan with his overall play. Take everything into perspective.

Give me a link to a quote then, It shouldn't be so hard to find if it has been said "many many times".

I won't comment on what the commentator said since you know its impossible for me to check it out.

I dont read enough of this forum to say how people rate him ... but the press and other media and other forums rave about him... as such he must be overrated.

I didnt actually mean you did... but people do here all the time without seeing the full picture.
As for zlatan... im not saying he isnt good either... I do think people get carried away with him though... he is imo along way from being the finished article.
Im not gonna get into comparing the twoi as those threads allways turn into stupid arguments rather than discussion.

To what extent do they "rave" about him? I mean he's not an ordinary player. Who else has started this well in his first season in Serie A?

I still don't understand why people are voting Zlatan.

Let's face it, from his Ajax days he has never really been a pointman. Is it because he wears jersey number 9?

Zlatan (as evidenced whenever Trez plays) functions best when there's a predator in front of him.

Imagine if Pippo were still here, or if (let's dream a little) we can get RVN...

    ...then he got a hattrick...
