Juventus have further strengthened their squad after agreeing terms with Deportivo La Coruna for Jorge Andrade.

The Spanish club have admitted that they have agreed a deal “in principle” with the Turin giants which should see the defender move to the Olimpico.

No financial details have yet been released, but it is understood that the Serie B champions will have to hand over £7m.

The Bianconeri turned their attention to the Portuguese stopper after their move for Gabriel Milito hit the rocks.

The Italian side have been chasing the Real Zaragoza man for some time, but reaching a compromise which the Liga club has been impossible.

As a result, it is now widely expected that Milito will join Barcelona after they were told to forget about netting Cristian Chivu of Roma.

Andrade, who is expected in Turin over the next few days to complete his medical, joined Deportivo in 2002 after impressing for two years at Porto.

Born in Lisbon 29 years ago, Jorge Manuel Almeida Gomes de Andrade started his career with hometown club Estrela da Amadora.

Winner of over 40 caps, the player has represented his country at World Cup and European Championship level.

Andrade is the second Portuguese player to have been netted by La Vecchia Signora this summer after Tiago Mendes joined from Lyon in a £9m deal.

great news
welcome andrade.
he's a real solid defender
now lets get barzagli or preferable canna...would be top nice.
so far good job, secco. now we just need to be confirmed that nedved and camo will be playing here next season too, otherwise secco will have to do some more magic on the transfermarket, such as diego or/and m.rodriguez

I a couple of years time we will be a different Juve we are today. Let's face we are not as attractive as we used to. If we can qualify for CL this will change. Andrade would still be the youngest of the class of Milan's defence. He is not that old for a cb. Canna is a lot older and still going on.
I'm sure we made a good deal even if we consider age/price.

Hopefully, but that's why I'd rather sign a player such as Milito instead of Andrade. The former has far more years left in the tank.
Beggars can't be choosers.

Seriously, we have to cut our cloth to meet our needs: any thought that we are a top attraction at the moment is laughable: we can attract very good slightly older, Andrade, and perhaps young players, but if a player of note has to choose between ourselves and a team in the Champions League: well the choice will be a quick one.

He has more than three years left in him anyway, what a load of old tosh.

yes Bianconero, this is what I told Andy. At this moment we are not that atractive, and we don't have enough money to compete we Barca, Real,.... because we lost 7 great players because of the scandal and now we need to get a lot of new players not only one

With his injuries and all... I sort of doubt that.

Milito plays for Zaragoza of all clubs... don't tell me he's playing for a more prestigious club than us. And Milito has publicly stated he wanted to play for us, however our management apparently couldn't find a deal.

Come on man, you're an intelligent guy. Andrade was the second choice to Milito whom we could not strike a deal with. The latter was our first choice and it's sad to say we don't the market power to negotiate with other clubs, which is obviously the job of Secco. I don't have confidence in him at all and nobody should, as he hasn't shown anything special yet.

Milito will be playing CL next season, and that my friends is the bottom line.
I agree it is not just a matter of finances. Barca are just in a lot better position right now. We just have to win a couple more titles and a CL once in a while and we can compete with anybody out there.

We actually have a higher stated transfer budget by our board than Barcelona. Our board pledged 70 million Euros to transfers, while Barca stated around 45. Come again.

Milito said he wanted Juventus, so you do the math.

yes 70m EUR for 2 CB, 2 CM, 1 ST and maybe also for a winger
Barca is well covered on every place, they just need to find even better player, they could spend all that money on only one player. They could even sell player for better money then we do.
I think it is easily to sell Guly for 8mio EUR then sell Kapo for 4
