This was the worst the worst defending I've ever seen from Italy. Zambrotta is horrible, I'm happy he is going to Milan with all them 40 year olds. Materazzi is trash so is Barzagli. That Milan midfield didn't work for them, why are they starting? Start Grosso, put De Rossi in midfield, and start from there. The whole team looked lost.

Man, that sucked. The sad thing is we can all scheme about what next, formations etc but the truth is

- The Azzurri's chances of proceeding are now very low (2 wins needed coz a draw anywhere wont do)
- Donadoni doesnt have the balls to make the necessary changes needed ie Chiellini, DP and De Rossi to shake shit up

Gattusso was riding a red card all game and should have been removed as there was nothing t protect anymore. De Rossi should start ahead of him against Romania coz he can at least pass more creativley and protect defence just as well and maybe allow Pirlo a more forward role

Italy definitely looked superb in the last 20 mins, when both Ale and Cassano were on the field...they could have scored 3 goals on another day (Toni chip, Grosso shot and Pirlo FK)

So out of your Cassano - Del Piero partnership, who's going to be the player to bang in all the crosses? Del Piero is usually not in there to goal poach and Cassano is always on the perimeter of the box. Who is going to connect to the Camoranesi and Grosso crosses?

All your goals come from crosses, so who is going to meet them? I think abandoning Toni would be a HUGE mistake.

Del Piero did it enough for Juventus this year, but this isn't Juventus so I really don't know. Need to calm down at Toni first, so pissed at him.

Agree. Those guys were really organised out there and so to were the Dutch today. Its a worrying thought knowing that they failed to score against Ooijer, Gio and who ever the other 2 guys where whose name I cant remember

Ahmed.. The Dutch had their chances that they missed too and if they scored, it would have been at least 5 goals in Gigi's net..

I think Italy were totally our of form except for some individual attempts that might have helped them looked decent in the last 20 minutes. But Team play was ZERO! You dont expect scoring when the whole lineup is wrong from the start..

I think it will be very tough playing the coming 2 games as you will see more roughness from the frustrated italians..

There's a lot of pressure on france now too. The netherlands are full of confidence and if france doesn't beat them and we beat romania then a tie against france would be good enough.
