A small trip to a Roma forum this morning and you see their fans wishing for players like Neymar, Sanchez, Mascherano and Hazard. :touched: They are so cute, they remind me of us. Too bad for us and them that we're just dreaming.

Their new ownership will bring financial stability and ensure they don't have to sell their best players to survive. From that perspective, yes, Roma should be more competitive, but they will not be like City or Chelsea, splashing huge amounts on players. The ownership structure is entirely different, with 4-5 people, plus UniCredit who will keep a a percentage as well.

Official: Roma takeover deal

Roma and Thomas Di Benedetto have released a formal statement confirming an agreement for the American takeover.
Di Benedetto, who heads a conglomerate ready to buy AS Roma from the Sensi family company Italpetroli and UniCredit Bank, has been in the city for advanced negotiations since Monday.

“Italpetroli S.p.a., UniCredit S.p.a. and Di Benedetto AS Roma LLC announce that negotiations in Rome over the past few days have reached a basic agreement to buy up control of AS Roma S.p.a.” read the statement released late Tuesday night.

“Based on this agreement, the buy-out should be completed by a company made up of 60 per cent Di Benedetto AS Roma LLC and 40 per cent UniCredit S.p.a.

“There is also an option for UniCredit to sell their shares to other strategic Italian investors.

“Over the next few days we will proceed to write out the definitive versions of the agreements reached today, which also include commitments for the reinforcement and future development of AS Roma.

“The signature of this agreement is expected within the next 20 days, allowing Di Benedetto AS Roma LLC to present financial guarantees.

“Until said guarantees and the signatures are finalised, we will not be revealing any further details on the contents of the agreement.”

Roma

The American Thomas DiBenedetto is not already the owner of Rome and the first problems arise. The 'Guardian' shakes giallorossi fans with a revelation: the team is likely to be excluded from international cups because DiBenedetto would be in possession of certain portions of the Liverpool . According to the Uefa there would be a conflict of interest: in these cases, the team lower in the European rankings (the Roma) has to give up.

This is the contention of the British newspaper, which reports a shareholding in the Italian-American entrepreneur Fenway Sports Group, the U.S. company that controls the Liverpool and Boston Red Sox. To make sure that everything is true 'Guardian' contacted the FSG, but did not want to answer the question DiBenedetto. Until the property passes under Rome stars and stripes, surely there is only one fact: "No individual or legal entity can directly control whether or not more than one club joined Europa League Champions League." At Rome - in the circumstances - would remain a possibility: the hope that Liverpool do not qualify for any European cup.

He's going to sell his small stake in Liverpool to the remaining individuals at Fenway Sports Group. He has a very small percentage

Di Benedetto: 'Scudetto next year!'

Thomas Di Benedetto has outlined his ambitious plans. “We want to win the Scudetto next season and turn Roma from Princess to Queen.”
The Boston magnate is at the head of a conglomerate that will buy out 60 per cent of the club’s shares, leaving the other 40 to UniCredit bank.

“I love Rome, it’s one of the most wonderful and well-known cities in the world, with architecture built over 2000 years ago,” he told TG1 and Mediaset news.

“Roma are a great squad and the passion of their supporters is second to none. I tell the fans, Forza Roma!

“At the moment Roma are a Princess and we want to make her into a Queen. In reality, we’d like to win the Scudetto next season. The objective is clear: win the title as soon as possible.”

Di Benedetto is expected to make sweeping changes to the club over the summer, but noted there would still be a Giallorossi core.

“There are many players who impress me and we are already working on them, but our basic model of the team is already here. It’s Francesco Totti and his extraordinary career. He’s a magician.

“Vincenzo Montella is doing a great job. The situation was very difficult and it’s clear he has a great rapport with the players. He managed to remove that black cloud that was holding the team down.”

The American businessman said he would aim to restructure the Stadio Olimpico to take away the running track.

“It’s not just Roma, but all of Italian football who need new stadiums. They are crucial to get back to the levels of a few years ago. The stadium is an absolute priority for us.”
