Granit Xhaka close to completing Arsenal move

The clubs have reached an agreement on a deal reported to be worth £30m for the Switzerland central midfielder.

Xhaka, 23, has flown to London to finalise personal terms and have a medical, scheduled for this weekend.

His arrival will strengthen a midfield depleted by the departures of Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and - possibly - Mathieu Flamini.

Xhaka will become Arsenal's first acquisition in what is expected to be a busy transfer window at the Emirates Stadium.

Montolivo to FC Köln?

Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo is linked with a move to Bundesliga side FC Köln.

The 31-year-old’s contract is due to expire on June 30 and there have been reports of a renewal, but so far no concrete action.

According to German site express.de, Montolivo could finish his career in the Bundesliga with FC Köln.

It wouldn’t take him long to settle, as his mother is German and he used to spend his summers there as a child.

He still speaks German and has spoken fondly of the Bundesliga atmosphere.

While the club hierarchy want to extend with Montolivo, large groups of Milan fans want him out and jeer the midfielder during games at San Siro.

I'll take that crock any day in front of our very questionable Hernanes, Pereyra, Sturaro and Asamoah level of this season. They all underperformance pretty bad. If you count all their "good" game this season, noone of them would get to 5

He is actually injured right now(knee injury) and its well noted that he has back problems.

Too big a risk on someone who'll command big wages and doesnt want to play in Serie A anyway.
