Bayern director Matthias Sammer has echoed Horwick's words, claiming that the Bundesliga giants will only bring Martinez on board if a compromise can be reached with Bilbao.

"The fact is that Javi Martinez is a very interesting player," he told Kicker-Sportmagazin.

"It is also a fact that sport and economics have to fit together.

"It will be back on once we find a way of preventing him from becoming a record transfer for this club. I do not see that happening."
Hmm

Is he any good?
Pretty good DM/CM. Most influential player last season in Ajax's team. Good positioning and a very disciplined midfielder.

quite decent, and lots of potential to become a solid right back. good purchase for them.

In b4 Dominic calls him cack
He's a midfielder, not a RB. He did play as a LB in his early days.

Does this mean that Tioté is leaving?

That's what I was wondering.

Is Anita of a standard to replace him or is it just a signing to add depth the the squad?
Just read comments from Pardew.

Sounds like he wants to keep Tiote, but is half expecting someone to come in for him.
