What is he needed for there? He was only good with the money, and I think the Arabs are capable enough of handling that.

Not having Lavezzi will certainly hurt Napoli.

However, they are threatening to build a squad that has enough depth to play at a good level all season.

If Pandev/Insigne/Vargas can step up so that they don't miss Lavezzi too much, Napoli will be pretty good this year.
I don't know who this Insigne guy is, but i don't think Pandev or Vargas are good enough to replace Lavezzi, especially the former.

Insigne scored a hat-trick in their first pre-season game yesterday. He's got heaps of potential and showed as much with Pescara last season. Will be interesting if he can take the next step this year.

Berba keen on AC Milan - agent

Dimitar Berbatov's agent has claimed the Manchester United striker would be open to a move to AC Milan.

Berbatov, 31, looks set to leave United this summer, having made just five Premier League starts last season, with interest in his signature thought to be high.

A loan deal had been mooted but it is reported that the Red Devils are seeking a fee of around £5 million for the Bulgarian's permanent signature.

AC Milan, who are set to complete the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG, and Serie A champions Juventus are the latest sides to be linked with Berbatov, and the striker's agent has indicated he would be keen to ply his trade in Italy.

His agent, Emil Dantchev, told calciomercato.com: "He may leave Manchester United at any time. His most likely destination is Italy, he's always loved Italian football.

"I know that Milan and Juventus are looking for a striker. I can say that they are two big clubs. I cannot say much but I do say that Berbatov likes Milan and looks good in red and black.

"Dimitar would run to AC Milan, because the club have appreciated him for years. They will have to speak with Manchester United and start negotiation

I hope he does well and fulfills his promise. May well find his way back to us one day.
Me too. The problem for the lad is that if he doesn't impress or play much then he could find himself on the way back to Italy by the time he is 22, and only clubs like Sampdoria or Fiorentina will touch him, maybe an Udinese. He'll have to start all over again, and would be 25-26 before he gets another big chance.

Cassano linked with Samp return
By Football Italia staff

The Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Antonio Cassano could be considering a return to Sampdoria given Milan’s player exodus.

The Rossoneri will have a much-changed squad in 2012-13 after a host of individuals left at the end of their contracts, while the club have sold Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain.

Cassano raised doubts about his future back in June when Thiago Silva was first linked with a switch to France.

“It will be hard to give Thiago Silva away, very hard,” Cassano stated from Italy’s Euro 2012 training camp. “The club need to be clear about the plans for next season.

“He is 50 per cent of our team and without him we would only be able to fight for Champions League qualification.

“Will I stay? I don’t know. I have an idea which I will keep to myself.”

That idea could be a return to Sampdoria, the club he left in acrimonious circumstances in January 2011.

The 30-year-old was a fan favourite at Marassi following his 2007 switch from Real Madrid, until a fall-out with President Riccardo Garrone.

The two men have since made peace, even if Garrone rubbished the idea of a Cassano return earlier this summer.
