but like Jacques said, i think, good football is different for everyone. For some it might be doing tricks, for others it might be one touch passing and possesion play
The best thing would be a mix of everything...

it would be but you rarely find this. I think some of the best football i've seen was when Arsenal was on that run of 49 unbeaten games, and they were winning matches 3-0 everytime. I was amazed by the quickness and skills of Pires, Henry, Ljungberg even Bergkamp

Then again we get to confuse ourselves with words like beautiful, great and wonderful.

What is good football? For some people it might be defending for 89 minutes and taking one chance and getting the winner. For others it might be dominating the match by holding possession all the time and making as many chances as possible. Others think that good football is kicking the ball from the defence line to the attackers and the attackers scoring.

In the end all this is subjective, all respect to paid to a certain way of football is subjective.

There is one word that is totally underrated especially on this forum, it is taste. No one seems to realize that people have different tastes and enjoy different kinds of football. When one says Barcelona are boring, a bunch jumps on him saying this is blasphemy. When some used to say that Capello plays good football, a bigger bunch called him gay, Zlatan cock sucker and other things.

When I say Barcelona sucks, it is because I think they do and when Andy thinks that they play good football it is because he thinks they do.

There is yet to come a definition of good football, personally I don't think there will.
Well put...

For the record, Barca bore the shit out of me....

I think you can admire a club's play and still detest them -- and I don't necessarily think that makes you a fan. It's actually a bit unusual for sports fans to encounter the combination of a team they detest and truly have no respect for at the same time (like Inter).

Yup, that's about it. There's no common ground on a definition for good football, on the other hand if we're all Juve fans it's because there're things that appeal to us fans (not necesarily the same, though) that bring us together. Those appeals -good football (regardless of definition) among them- are what makes one fan of a certain club, and it's completely possible to find some of them elsewhere.

In UCL this year I've found myself rooting for Lyon, they've shown an interesting style and I'd be happy for them to succeed. Those that make me any less of a Juve fan? Fandom isn't an exclusivity contract, it isn't a marriage. I love Juve, I enjoy watching them playing, why shouldn't I root for another them, just for the good of the game.

good football is that people watching a game will enjoy it and not just be happy for their team winning , take forexample when ronaldenho scored 2 goals in madrid last season , real fans starts cheering for him since they enjoyed his goals , this is what i mean in good football
AN example of good footbal was Real Madrid beating Barcelona 2-0
THRILLING MATCH
