exactly. it wasn't his best game, still decent enough to shut down doku and grealish, especially in the 2nd half
btw the jump some squad members had to make recently isn't that obvious
- half a year ago savona and mbamgula played in serie c
- yildiz started the last year with next gen too
- gatti played in serie d 5 years ago as a part time pro footballer
- kalulu had to overcome a bad injury and was considered as a part timer by milan
- locatelli was left home by spalletti and everybody shat at him
- mckennie was on the market, weah wasn't because nobody wanted him anyway
- mdg played for bloody monza lol
and yes, city are out of shape so this win doesn't necessarily mean that we'll comfortably beat venezia and monza as we should. still, it was nice to see that most of the team gave their all and we finally scored some chances

seriously, it was city, one of the fastest, best passer teams, even if they are in bad shape. yeah it would have been nice if both savona and danilo contributed more to the attacks. (and let's be fair to him, danilo started our counter for the 2nd goal.) but it wasn't the game for fullbacks to shine in attack. tactics were spot on, even with low possession, relatively low block. as for savona, he often shows up around the opposition box and is an okay passer, i like his attacking contribution. not a new zambrotta, still, tall and smart in positioning, no wonder he has 2 goals already

he is very careful in his passing and movement, which is also why he performs so good. We might see his attacking abilities more once he is more confident maybe.
I liked that one move from him when we were pressed heavily and he opened so much space for MDG to pass to him with one wise move. I think Koop or Conceicao lost the ball or slowed the play after that, but we could have created a good counter out of it. Its still only one move, but maybe he can improve that.

He pretty much is a DRC so I'm not sure if we can ever expect him to be a fullback who helps a lot in the attacking phase. That's ok if the team has attacking balance with someone like Chico in front of him and attacking players on the left. But let's not forget, even though he's not Dani Alves this is a kid who also scored a couple of goals very early in his career for a young defender, so he may be more likely to contribute in attack like that rather than assists.
