He was even worse against Stuttgart as a deep-lying playmaker.
I don't think either of these two positions suit him. Imo he would be better as a deep lying bench warmer in Empoli.

Disagree, there were a bunch of players a lot worse than Fagioli against Stuttgart. Today he was one of the weakest (besides Danilo for me)
