I noticed he was playing that role McKennie had under Allegri where he would often time be so advanced he was essentially a wing/second striker hybrid. Love that role for him because it utilizes his playmaking.
The role fits because he gets up there to link with ADM and takes the creative burden off him whilst he has the guile to mix in with Pogba and Loca. Just love the determination too, it’s what we need more than anything.

Hope this is his year because this set up is pretty much perfect for him.

ps- thanks for the vids

I honestly loved the trio of Pogba loca and Fagioli. Idk how they’ll be in the defensive phase but honestly would sacrifice that for more creativity/dynamism going forward.

This and put in Zakaria when we have to defend in place of Fagioli. We should really gamble on it, sell McKennie and buy proper Left wing with his money.
I can now see why Paredes links are coming, Rovella looked not ready for Juve today.
Tbf to rovella he was playing with a bunch of kids. I’d like to see him start against Barca instead of Locatelli. But yeah Fagioli over him all day

I think Loca was always going to play more of a holding and covering role with Pogba in the team anyway. Pogba has got presence too. But Fags showed that he can mix in and get involved in that phase too.

Short players in the mould of Veratti and Iniesta are always great at intercepting and making tackles in tight spaces to turn the ball over.

From what I saw of Zakira and Rovella today, I’d rather have a player of quality than the DM of the level that they both represent. They’re honestly average.

Fagioli really improved in the defensive phase with Cremonese this season. He averaged 1.5 tackles per game and also won over 50% of ground duels. He’s not some wall but he’s also not a liability. Modric hovers around 50% on ground duels as well, so if he can translate that to serie A he’ll be fine.

Had a quick scroll through Twitter and didn’t realise there’s actually factions of fans that battle and bitch between Fagioli/Rovella/Miretti. Laughable really.

Didn’t watched it, way too early here. Happy that he did good, as I’m saying for several season now, he should play for the first team. Unbelievable that Pirlo kept him on the bench for a year after he came from a amazing season with U19.
