If someone would just say what the problem would be? I mean personally i cant see anything wrong with a thread in another language, or at least why everyone is objecting to it.

Of course not, however you certainly had at lease a decent grasp of the language when you signed up here.

Don't get me wrong, you do not need to have a very good grasp of the language to post here. However, IMO you should at least have enough of a grasp to actually make sense, albeit not having perfect grammar and spelling. A poster such as JuvetheBest never makes any sense, and it just brings the forum down IMO. But rules are rules and I respect them.

Her English, even thoug not very sophisticated, was still readable and people didn't have to read her pieces over and over again to make sense of them.

I'm not surprised. And that's why I've always wanted to counter that here, because I think everyone who speaks a language well is tempted to exclude poor speakers from the conversation. I do it myself.

No, I'm not talking about you, I'm saying in general.

And we've already explained. This is primarily an English forum, creating Spanish or Italian or French etc threads would in a way isolate a group of members to themselves and also mean most of the forum couldnt participate. Such threads would also probably be unmoderated, and selecting a mod just because of one thread isnt an option.

Just like its currently happening with Juve_The_Best and members that cant speak english correctly. Maybe if there was a thread in their native languages other members could explain them how the forum works and tell them to try and post better in english

Yes, it does happen that you dont take seriously someone that hasnt eloquently enough put forward his idea, altho what he/she has said might be smarter or informative than what others, with better language skills, might say.

Its not really a way of isolating people. just some people would find it easier if they were also allowed to post in their own languages, but i doubt anyone is going to agree on this are they, so there is little point, its just a shame imo.

Considering there are so many members from all parts of the world that would mean we'd have to have 30 different threads for all the respective nations and languages. Simply not an option.

You could first create threads for just five different languages to see how it works. And I dont think that having too many threads is a problem

I guess there wouldnt be moderators but someone could be appointed to watch that thread and if something wrong happens they could tell a mod

Anyway no point in discussing this anymore, Marty already said that he wanted this to be only in english so in the meantime my only solution would be to find a Juve forum in my language
