Exactly. I don't know how to call it in English but in ancient Greek it's called Hubris. Now Hubris, that's bad. That's when you think you can take on the gods. Being arrogant is just being very confident.
Yeah, and you also have to have humility so you can regonise your mistakes.

Arrogant is just something with a bad name, like vanity. FFS, why cant you love yourself? :rolleyes:

I have a book you might like to read Seven.

Call it cocky then. I just dislike people that have an attitude and think theyre better than everyone else
I dont agree with this one. If people think others are actually better then them, they will never ever BE better people. If you dont think you are great, then who will?

I agree if they actively put you down Ie tell you you are trash, but people who think they are great are the people who will go the furtherst in life.

It is okay to have confidence, but I think there is a line between being confident and being arrogant

Humility (which we'll take as the opposite of arrogance) isn't a matter of thinking that everyone is better than you. Confidence and arrogance are different things

They're also the people that nobody likes and whose coffee is the target of everyone's malicious fantasies.

Well what do you define as arrogant?

You have got to know you are good. However, you have to know when you have made mistakes too. But i see no harm to anyone by thinking you are great. Why think you arent? thats just stupid.

I disagree;

for the first example off the top of my head, take Roberto Baggio. I'm pretty sure he knows he's a great footballer, and he wasn't lacking confidence by any stretch of the imagination, but whenever he scored, I just loved the way he would point out the player who gave him the assist and give them credit, instead of running around pointing to the name on the back of his shirt.

That's the difference between humility/confidence/arrogance. Maybe a bad example, but I hope u understand.

All I meant was that, you may become successful by being an arrogant asshole, but those kind of people are the ones who get their coffee spiked when they leave their desk :)
