Recycling in my city could not be easier. There is a trash can and a recycle bin. Just put all glass, aluminum, newspaper & glossy paper in the bin. The city does the sorting. Easy. For some reason, the Right Wingers I know refuse to recycle, thinking it some sort of liberal conspiracy to drag the country down.

Back in '95 or something, Sweden got really tough on recycling and stuff. Before we just collected all the trash up in one bag, and through it in a hole (in apartments) and it would go into a big bin on the bottom floor; from which it would get picked up. Then they built little rooms next to each complex where you had to separate everything. They even had random searches to check if people were doing it right or not. One day a lady stopped by our house and started complaining because we hadn't apparently done it right (she found out because she looked at an envelope in the trash with our address on it) :p

Here in the US though, it's not a big deal. I mean we're supposed to seperate regular trash from plastics and stuff, but lots of people don't.

Recycling is a load of nonsense. All it does is create as much pollution as the rest of the landfills you would fine in middle America. All it is is rent seeking bullshit.

have three different color-coded garbage bins I have to put out each week for the city of SF -- regular trash (black), recycling (blue), and composte (green). That's about my limit.
and here I thought the different colors would represent the colors of the "rainbow"...knowing just how popular that sort of thing is in San Fran :D

its pretty easy here as well...

I find myself on the right, and I have no problem with recycling...but I'm sure the liberals have other scams in the works :eyebrows:

Hell, I'm certainly not an expert, it is very likely that bastards of all stripes are getting rich off this, and maybe recycling is a liberal scam. I'll keep doing it though because I have actually seen those picnic tables made out of recycled Mountain Dew bottles.

I think the only good evidence I found to the contrary was when the city of Oakland had to put up razor wire fences to prevent people from continually breaking into their city recycling bin stashes and running off with the stuff like they were big screen televisions.

and here I thought the different colors would represent the colors of the "rainbow"...knowing just how popular that sort of thing is in San Fran :D
:D Yeah, all I need is some little brown guy to say he feels slighted by the exclusion of his color-of-choice on my curbside garbage cans.

Btw, I do love that "recycling = liberal conspiracy" angle... :howler: Man, I gotta watch more Fox News.

I prefer the playgrounds made out of recycled jesus fish.
I prefer the playgrounds made out of aborted fetuses.

(That last one's for you, Burkeee boyyyy...)

I'm a little worried about Ze, suddenly everyone turned against him, can't be good for the blood pressure.
dont worry about tahir he can handle himself, just one more year of pilot lessons, a private detective to track down ip adresses and a little more hatred from others before he goes postal and flies a plane into the infidels...eh americans...eh abusive members houses

Yeah I know what you mean. We (as in the developed population) over-indulge and take advantage of the plentiful energy resources we have. That "One-Tonne Challenge" thing that Rick Mercer was pushing for was a start. If everyone started eliminating the little things like leaving lights on and shit, it would certainly make a bit of an impact.
sure would....everyone in my neighbourhood would be robbed blind

here in scotland they were getting tough on recycling, we have a bin for general waste, a bin for garden waste 2 colour coded tubs for plastics and other recyclables and a blue bag for paper...
no-one really gives a damn though tbh, scots can be very ignorant people. we have a service where you phone the council and they give you a date to pick up anything you have to dump, for free. however, you walk though the nice green parkway right next to my house and you find burned out cars, motorbikes, fridges, etc fly tipped in the night because people are too lazy to pick up a phone and have it uplifted

So I've been watching that new Eddie Izzard TV show on F/X (yes, I'm a fan of him, and I know Martin is not)... "The Riches". It's not a comedy by any stretch. It's sort of like a dark version of "The Beverly Hillbillies".

I'm not sure that's the one-line description Eddie used to sell the concept to Fox execs, but it's not as terrible as that ridiculous plotline sounds. :D

Jethro: "Where's all the moon maidens?!"

Granny: "Quit your yapping and let's tie up the Drysdales for heroin money."

Jihad-attempt to persuade young impressionable boys to blow themselves up in the name of religion. attempt to force (alleged) invasion forces out of your country by bombing everyone from soldiers to little dogs before they bomb you back to the stone ages.

Kamikaze-lead a squadron of elite jet fighters through a treacherous dog fight before slamming into aircraft carriers. fight the enemy, and your own fear with the unique shitter system, overcome your fear bar that will attempt to force you to pull up and carry out your mission so that your family is not dishonoured

Milf-Hunter-you are Bob, a 20-something unemployed male with a penchant for married women. laugh as Bob takes in a local soccer match in teh hope of scoring big time with a soccer mom. play as Bob tries to amke friends...then make out with their moms when they are not around. pick up bonus points for staying in thehouse long enough to get chased by an irate husband...just make sure he doesent get his hands on you

end the world-try and bring about a climactic change in the worlds waether by buying a hummer, eating at mcdonalds and re-electing george w bush. stick 2 fingers up to the kyoto agreement and burn a fair trade coffe house as you attempt to prove that global warming isnt caused by man. can you bring about the end of the age of man before the hippies get a man in the white house?

i'd buy all except Kamikaze, only if Milf-Hunter is an interactive game :D

Eller så kan ja bara skita i det och fortsätta som vanligt. Vad tycker du? :D

Sure, I bet they'd like a thread like that. ;)
