I still say your opinion is biased. Drogba plays in one of the most hated teams, Nedved plays with Juventus. Surprise, surprise, this is a Juventus forum.
actually jack i find a lot to admire about chelsea to be honest. i like a lot of their players, i admire their resiliance and i think as arrogant as jose comes across he deflects all the pressure away from the players.
however, i feel that with all the skill and presence drogba has he spends so long play acting and antagonising opposition players that it ruins all the good work he puts in and i dislike him due to this.

on the other points though i am in agreement with you

My coach just got a great idea. We're dead last in our league (a position where we really shouldn't be when you look at our players), so he came up with this great gameplan: benching his best player for the 2nd consecutive time. Now I could live with being benched last week. After all I had been out injured for a month, but today I feel like I could kill someone. I mean, it's so blatantly obvious I should be on the team it isn't funny anymore. We played a practice game which must have ended something like 4-3, and I had 2 goals and 2 assists. When we win on sunday thanks to a goal of mine, I'll be the last one to celebrate that's for sure.

Luckily my idol is Del Piero, not Totti, so for now I keep my mouth shut :D.

I only had the bench taste couple of times, other than that, I don't really know how it is to be a bench player. I'm lucky though.

Wow, you should play baseball then, you need a career change.

Football's for the toughies here in Europe though. It's not the same in the US I guess.

I haven't been on the bench too much either. Last year must have been the first time ever I was on the bench.

I have nothing against the team, but I dislike the image the club has as this ideological victim and the whole 'mas que un club' bs. Equally so, the fans are enthralled by this and tend to come off as if they support some kind of humanitarian movement that deserves credit. The political side of it is annoying. Bleh.
While Barca deserves some credit for how it has held off the big jersey sponsor, etc. Fact is that much of the organization and fans flaunt that as if they're somehow special and deserving of ass kissing. The reality is that they're contributing at least as much to the overcommercialization of the sport, so they have no leg to stand on. So I'll side with you on that one, Martin.

That said, they deserved their CL trophy this year.

Burke, I don't think Barca is a Jewish Club, so quit being a nerd

Yes, Mourinho is an arrogant prick, but I like that in him. I hope he keeps this attitude towards the press and his opponents all the time.
It is far too easy to act arrogant these days. I give Mourinho all the credit for having at least the capacities to back up most of his trash talking. And to the extent that the EPL is full of moronic blowhards who are only a tenth of the quality of the words coming out of their asses, Mourinho's arrogance puts them in their place -- which is hilarious theater in my book.

But arrogance earns you no respect as a human being. Which is all the more reason why someone like a Del Piero is special and a Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a dime-a-dozen wannabe wanker/crybaby.

Still, I think given the Russian oil billions that have floated his transfer strategies, Mourinho should be expected to deliver more than he has with all that talent. He did stellar things with Porto, but Roman is a far cry from days at the Dragão.

But i do not say that Bayern are the best team in the world.....
Yet I wouldn't think you were absolutely nuts if you did... at least from time to time.

In my opinion, the only reason they don't have a sponsor is because they can afford that luxury. There is no way a financially strapped club would refuse a sponsor on ethical grounds.

It's all about status quo. If your peer is getting additional funds for transfers, salaries from an additional sponsorship where you are not, you almost have to ante up to remain competitive.

Right, but Barcelona clearly are competitive enough without a shirt sponsor. That doesn't mean they're not milking the marketing cow, Ronaldinho is the best paid footballer on earth.

But should they suddenly find themselves midtable, with too little income to compete for the title, me thinks a change would come.

interesting discussion was here, started about 3 -4 pages back

abt Chelsea, Burke said they were destructive to football overall and i agree to a certain extent especially in regards to football. I can't believe nobody here mentioned that, surprising really.Since last season Capello was playing the same exact type of football. And everyone was bashing him.
Last week i saw them playing newly promoted Sheffield United, and after they scored the 1st goal its like they had no intention of even playing, with their quality they should be playing the best football in the world. But they could be the most boring team in the world and imo thats harmful to football.

Another thing abt chelsea, they seems to posses some type of arrogance, as well as the sheer bad attitude towards the opposition.Which is not surprising considering the actions of their coach

-Abt Barcelona and the attitude of their fans as the "victims" i dont justify that right now.But in the past they were victims, General Franco did a real number on them and in favouring Madrid.
So mybe they could justify that.
The politics is just too big in Spain overall not just in Catalunya, you should also consider the Basque region.

I tried getting my hands on candy from a vending machine by using a worthless Turkish coin that kinda has the same shape as a 2 euro coin (for those of you unaware, in Turkey you purchase a cup of coffee with a bill that reads 2 million lira). I think I jammed the machine with it...

Came back later, some jackass was beating up the machine cause it "ate his quarter".

What a fun day.

I can use a Korean 100 won coin to substitute a 10 cent coin in Australian vending machines.

Unfortunately the 100 won is worth 13 cents

Haven't tried it the other way around, but my supply of Aussie coins here is very limited.

The controversial win was the red card Chelsea took at Stamford Bridge (1) then the Sheva goal that was disallowed (2) without this they wouldn't have reached an Eboue dive. But then again you hatred towards English teams and Milan makes you not see that.
so what jack? do you dislike juventus for getting all those questionable calls year and year out? i for one think that del hornos red card was fully deserved and i dont see how barca can be accused of something in this situation. where as for shevas disallowed goal. fuck it, happens all the time. plenty of goals are disallowed incorrectly. man utd had a goal disallowed in their game against porto in 2004. had the goal stood, who knows, maybe mourinho wouldnt be the legend he is now. maybe deschamps would be coaching chelsea?

barcas fans are annoying, thats for sure. but fuck me, the likes of turk bianconero makes me want to distance myself from juventus sometimes.
