Jealousy is such a strong word. If you mean by that that I would love Messi and Ronaldinho to play for Juventus, you're right, but if you mean I would like my team to play like Barca you're wrong.

I can honestly say I want my team to play football the way Italy did during the World Cup. Other than Barcelona they played possession football against Germany with an actual gameplan. In the end only two or three Barca passes actually go deep and are threatening and they almost always come from Ronaldinho, Messi or Xavi. All in all Barcelona is far from a great team. Hell, even I could tap the ball back to Xavi forty times. And what about their unwillingness to provide Zambrotta on the wing? Plain stupid if you ask me.

I understand why people would admire Chelsea. Unlike Barcelona they try to play as fast as possible. Whereas you could compare Rijkaard with having tea with your grandmother, Mourinho takes you on the rollercoaster. That said I'm not a fan of Robben's or Drogba's antics.

Yea, and most of your goals come from Trez. What the fuck is your point?

In my opinion, the only reason they don't have a sponsor is because they can afford that luxury. There is no way a financially strapped club would refuse a sponsor on ethical grounds.

We can put that theory to work. Barca claiming to be the only club who don't "sell out" their shirt is false. Athletic Bilbao has traditionally shunned a shirt sponsor. Bilbao is not a wealthy club, so let's see if Bilbao suddenly takes on a sponsor.

No, not really. Barca is not committed by Bilbao and neither do they compete in the same class so to speak. Barca is sufficiently competitive (Liga and CL champions) without another sponsor, I'm saying if they suddenly found themselves unable to compete in the top 5 they might do something about it. Besides, Bilbao's ambitions are not Barca's, there's a difference of class here.

And frankly Bilbao is a wacky club on many levels, not least by how they only sign Basque players. They actually seem a lot more ideologically bent in whatever direction than just about any other club I know of.

@ Martin - Piacenza, until recently, had an "Italians Only" policy, and the fact that there were none of those goddamned Polish Norweigans in the team drew me to the Stadio Garilli.

I must admit I was amused when I first discovered that this limitation also existed in Championship Manager :D

i have so much respect for that club.Maintaining the policy of signing Basque players and still they r the only team next to Barcelona and Real who hasn't been relegated yet.Amazing really, shows that even these days football is not always abt money.

By the way an interesting fact about Spain, i dont remember during which European qualifier recently. Spain couldn't fill out the stadium they played in, however there was a game between Basque region and Catalunya which attracted a full house in the Nou Camp
