Jaecole and Paul.... are you guys going to watch England vs the US tomorrow night?

Should be a good match even though Sven will be playing a pretty much experimental squad. Coach Arena will be using a different array of players as well, so we shall see what happens. But I know some Englishmen don't take too kindly to these "Sven friendlies" though.
Sure I'll be watching it, excuse to go to the bar.

I really don't see the point in this friendly though, at this time of the season.

Why for playing better for an entire 10 minutes of the game??

There is no question that the FOOTBALL GODS were on Liverpool's side...apart from those 10 minutes they played complete CATENACCIO ..

I don't see how you can see Liverpool PLAYED a better game..it was a monumental comeback: YES..no doubt. However, they are still thanking their lucky stars Milan didn't score after all the attacking they did throughout the game...
If Liverpool wanted it more they sure didn't show it after that 7 minute tidal wave.
In fact, the football gods were on Milan's side all night long, and their names were Cafu, Maldini, Nesta and Stam. Nothing that is said can take away from Liverpool's achievement. Sure, they played Catenaccio, but in all honesty, i dont see anything wrong with it. In the second half, Liverpool got the three goals, and played within their limitations from thereon. They were intelligent enough to realise the mistakes they made in the first half, and were well aware of how vulnerable they were on the counter.

And like I've said before, Milan, probably should just thank their stars they were even in the final, because as much as i wanted them to win the cup after Juve were sent packing; they did little to deserve it in the semis. Where they were thoroughly outplayed in two legs of football by PSV Eindhoven, who were by far the more deserving candidates for the final.

Would somebody please tell me WHY Crespo, who scored 2 goals that afternoon, was substituted for Tomasson ????

To prove it more that Ancelotti is an average coach with weird decisions.

That's easy to say from a Milan sympathiser's point of view, and if you look at it that way, of course the goal should be disallowed... but on the flipside, imagine if you were a Liverpool fan, and the ref disallowed that goal simply because Baros was 'offside', despite his best efforts not to get in the way of the ball. It would've been a bloody outrage.
I was cheering for Liverpool, gray. Nonetheless, it simply wasn't a goal. Sheva's goal in the final against Juve was disallowed for this reason. I think Milan was pretty much robbed on wednesday, BUT they should thank themselves anyway. They were too arrogant and therefore lost the game. Liverpool was just aided a bit by refereeing errors. Like Dudek coming out of his goal with every single penalty for example.

What an absolute joke. Milan had six minutes of madness with the dumbass referee being the architect. Liverpool's second goal should never have happened because there was a clear offside that the imbecilic referee decided to let go even with his linesman's flag waiving in the air. Then good old diver Gerrard took a nice fall inside the box with minimal contact from Gattuso; the great referee was sure it was a foul. Then into penalty kicks Dudek was acting like a cheat shaking his legs and jumping feet off the line before the ball was kicked. If the referee had any balls or brains he would have called that shit back every time. Dudek is an absolute joke. Milan deserved to win and now we have all of gloryhunting England having a ball tonight. Congrats for all it's worth.

Nick, your team was robbed once again. Sorry dude.

bollocks!!!

I think you don't really understand the term FOOTBALL GODS...think WEATHER GODS....etc. you are thinking of legends...different.

P.S. Your right..nothing is wrong with catenaccio..until an Italian does it and it is then dubbed "anti-football".

They lost one game out of 6 including the second round against Man U; Inter and PSV....
Did you watch them apart from the one game they lost against PSV or are you just basing it on that..

please explain to me how a team that wins 5 games and allows NO GOALS in those FIVE GAMES and loses ONE does not deserve to be in the final...

    VERY WRONG KID.

Average coaches do not manage sides like this no matter how CLOSE they are to management....teams like Milan and Juve have LITTLE patience ... Milan have fired Capello (in his horrible 97 season) and even Sacchi..
Juve have indirectly fired Lippi and Trap.

Trust me...this is the "BIG LEAGUES" and mediocrity will not do...

Exactly. When Chelsea does it, it's actually considered "entertaining football". Now, I do believe catenaccio can be entertaining, but I'm pretty much sure most people don't.

Its just one of those things you have to put up with when you support an Italian team...

    .
Anti-football? To a degree it is seen as anti-football but thats wide scale across Europe. It's not reserved for Italians like you make out.

I've posted in response to this about 10 times with you, you skip it every time and continually post it. I guess you see it as a poke at English teams or something. Quite silly really.

Personally I do not see anything special in Ancelotti. The only thing he is talented at is creating balance in the squad. It is something not any manager can do, but other than his tactics are not something to be proud of.

Yeah not too many castigated Liverpool for their style of play, yet when an Italian side does the same thing the press consider it sinful. Bunch of hypocrites.

So then you can't comment on this debate..simple as that...

    Your input ends here.
You could at least explain how supporters in the stands avoid being fooled by the inevitable parallax error; no need to be patronising
