As far as I recall she declined to say why.
It dosent have a relation to me. Just a cool word. Its the name of a rare nirvana song.

Though truth be told, compared to Emma or River I am pretty damn bland. :D

    That's a good point.

Btw I noticed you added Inktomi to your list there.. you're not discriminating against other search engines, are you?
Good catch Marty...Inktomi remains a Nick against the World Loyalist

Dear respected Turdface, please tell River that her mother is looking for her.

My best friend in real life posts here too, his name is Burke. Burke and I do it doggy style so that we can both watch the NASCAR race. hehehe.

This thread needs a high colonic, but we'll just have to settle for Libero's disgusting ass fungus. Got any pics?

Today I reached the conclussion that America is a place apart from the rest of the World. Somehow everything is more advanced here
Somewhat. Everything is advanced if you have the $$. The efficiency and sheer “running” of the nation (services, institutions, procedures, etc. is second to none). The ideology is far from perfect: health care being a major black eye to our way of life. The lack of interest in politics and the cultures around us is another terrible habit of ours (though the isolationism helps us get what WE want). The LIVE to WORK philosophy is the one thing I don’t miss: I have lived in Rome for almost 2 years now and been around different cities in Europe for work and week-ends: life does not revolve around work. Life revolves around life. So I don’t have that extra bonus at the end of the year: f_ck that: the smile on my face makes up for it.
For everything else….there is no place like home.

Everything is more advanced? Like education, social conscience, or multi-culturalism?

Is a common perception in the latinamerican people that submerges in the american way of life and thinking. And , for the most, is true. I spent 8 years studying and working in the states and felt the same your feeling now.

But there are also some areas( emotion related areas) that the american society is unable to satisfy, and that only can be apprecciated when you return to your people( latinamerican) and can put things in perspective with the help of the far view....

    sorry, just my two cents....

Multi-culturalism is a myth. The United Nations once awarded Holland a price (late 1990s this was I think) for successfully having founded a multi-cultural society while in essence, this is just a society with different groups living seperate lives without mutual understanding or respect.

Then in November last year a filmmaker was murdered by a radical muslim for making a critical movie on islam and these different groups erupted in fury: churches, mosques, synagoges and even schools were bombed. People got shot in the street and there was no discussion to be found ANYWHERE.

Multiculturalism, which is in essence nothing more than polarisation, is a curse and should be avoided at all times. Assymilation is the way to go.

Regarding America - It's very easy to focus on the negative points of any person or any nation. But when you think it through; if America were to fall (which will happen one day; god knows if Rome could fall so too will Washington), the successor to their throne would be either China (90% likeliness) or Russia (7% likeliness). I don't know about you but if I had to pick between those three; I'd choose America any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Maybe we ought to remember that more often...

The thing with China is that it's a state which is very consumed with its own affairs and scarcely interested in exerting influence abroad (aside from instances like Taiwan and Tibet where they assert their hegemony for a while now). Point being that at this particular moment it is hard to imagine China could/would play a similar role to the US or indeed the Soviets.

China are sitting back because they don't want to interfere with global affairs at the risk of annoying the Western world which they still need at this point in time to keep their economy running.

Economic experts (I read this article in "The economist") estimate that China will need another decade to get their economy sorted out and gain economic independence. If that happens, political "independence" followed by global interference will follow because it always has (from the ancient Asian powers to Golden Age Europe to present day America).

Now I wasn't talking mere years here, we all know America is not going to fall today or tomorrow and China doesn't have their act together yet.

I just said that IF anyone, China is GOING to be the new superpower.

Whether we'll even live to see it remains to be seen.
