Lehren is a verb. It's true however that it's less used than the English to teach.

For example, you use lehren for a professor teaching in university, but a teacher "unterrichtet" in school.
Your absolutely right. :oops: The not believable but true explanation for my shortcomings is im an idiot :D I myself have used lehre before but never encountered it's infinitive.

As for question #1 and 2, I think both are wrong. Why would you capitalize "can" like that in the middle of a sentence?

Yes, studying hard recently... see how many people trip up on that test. I bet you more than you would expect. Of course by the end of it all there will be the flow followers but let's see.
I'll readily admit to you that I have no idea about comma rules in English. Actually it's annoying that every language does it differently.
