It wasn't meant to be a joke. I'm only commenting on the Belgian situation here, as I don't know any other culture profoundly enough to have an opinion, but in Belgium things are very clear: the intellectual higher society doesn't believe, high school dropouts do.
Traditionally and historically the rich and the "educated" tend not to believe and the poor do. The rich and "intellectual" as you say seem to have no reason to believe sense the have everything they want and get anything they want at anytime. The idea of a God doesn't stick too well with them.

As a general rule, the more educated and/or world experienced are often less willing to accept emotionally-based explanations for anomalies and the unexplained in a world ruled by fact-based evidence.

fact based? only small bits of information out there are apodeictic the rest is assumptions and theories. Moreover the likes of descartes pascal kierkgaard are not famed for their emotional inclinations.

PS: i really should lay off the ludes

do you feel yourself more "intellectual" with using words like these on purpose or for having stronger english? or wasn't it obvious that my english wasn't enough to reply of what you have said earlier?
They're just words. Don't be so insecure. Look them up if you don't understand them FFS, there's no shame in that. Just don't dismiss arguments because you can't understand them.

I'm British, if you would of noticed my english is flawless apart from the odd internet spelling error. I never claimed my languages were good in general, but have a conversation with me and I'll promise you I am perfect in speech. ;)

Question for the forum:

Pick the correct sentence out of these questions:

1.

a) Mr. Brown, Can Alex and me use the computer

or

b) Mr. Brown, Can Alex and I use the computer

2.

a) That makes Alex and me happy

b) That makes Alex and I happy
1A 2B, cummon Dan, make it tough.

Mr. Brown, can Alex and I use the computer?

That makes Alex and me happy.

Check out the definitions of Guido on urban dictionary:

A sad pathetic excuse for a male; not necessarily of Italian descent, but most likely; usually native to the New York/New Jersey Tri-State area.

---

an Italian American man usually residing in New York or New Jersey. He wears shirts that are too tight and unbuttoned 5 buttons too low to show off the chest that he spent hours and hours at the gym obtaining, he spends more time on his hair than his girlfriend, and continues to "hit the clubs" long into his mid to late 30's. Often attracted to the female version of himself, the guidette.
An adolescent or young-adult American male of Italian ancestry or descent; esp. one of lower-middle-class socioeconomic background or status and thought of as being dim-witted, excessively aggressive, and prejudiced against perceived outsiders, particularly homosexuals and members of other races.
This explains his frequent threats to call the department of homeland security :howler:

and my personal favorite; the one that paints the perfect picture of Incubo...except I would throw in "Living in Italy as a pretender"

The Guido is an entirely American phenomena, with its epicenter in the New York/ New Jersey metropolitan area. Although most of its examples are of Italian-American descent, manytimes other non-descript Caucasians will follow suit in an attempt to achieve an identity- in fact any identity. The Guido is highly recognizable by his attention to muscular development, status symbols, and regional dialect. Guidos are fortunate in that they usually tend to be loyal to their heritage and cultures. However, their interpretation of the Italian culture is unique to Americans. They fall sorrily short when attempting to emulate the sophistication of European-born men. In fact, their shortcomings include a tendency toward alcoholism, legal problems (usually related to assault, reckless driving, noise violations), and an inability to compete in legimate business. Fortunately for them, they usually live an exciting, care-free existance. They are easily satiated by tacky mall attire, drunken nights with similar-minded women, and nightclubbing in the lesser desired beach towns such as Seaside Heights, New Jersey. In the end, although they maintain a unique sense of identity and pride, their superficial lives often leave them empty. The tolls of excessive grooming products, STDs, and alcohol abuse age these specimens quite poorly. The time spent in fitness clubs is usually far offset by their lifestyle choices.
Dedicated to Seven, Fliakis, Jack, Rebel, and who ever else thinks he's a joke.
