Though I blame the exposed power-lines. I don't know about the rest of Europe, but unlike US, the power-lines in Sweden are underground. Not only does that make the place look nice but power outages are significantly rare. Over here in the States a little wind can sometimes knock out the power

In Ireland, it's mostly overhead. I didn't hear of much in the way of electricity problems during this storm though.

It helps if your mind practically thinks in terms of algorithms and structures to begin with. I don't know if it's a curse or a blessing though, but the condition has been a fact for as long as I can remember.

C++ is pretty nasty though, noone does that for fun. There's a number of different languages they could have taught you instead. I guess they just want you to have basic programming skills? Don't see why they would dump you in the ocean just to teach you to swim.
