Vinman is Police Officer in a state where 5 years ago too many of his collegues died at the hands of brainwashed extremists with no personality of their own or no will of their own...people like him had to climb into burning inferno's while people were rushing out

VINMAN has EARNED the right to be heard without being called ignorant or brainwashed...

funny, how do you know what goes on there ??
That has nothing to do with it, it's not your fault that everytime you turn on the tv that's all you see and hear. How do I know? Well for starters I don't listen or read to biased media, also,I can tell when they try to brainwash people about things, such as Islam. It's amazing how much they'll lie, disgusting rather.

    Two words: Raider Nation.

Damn. And I thought the Packers did a great job of inflating the Bears egos. Art Shell's team just made an All Pro out Rivers.

forget the egos but the look on the fudge-packers (especially # 4) after the whooping was priceless.

To Ze Tahir: "It is too bad for the wood which finds itself a violin and scorn for the heedless who argue over what they are totally ignorant of"

All I have to say is:

In Rwanda, tens-of-thousands of people die in less than 48 hours, and we don't really care. But when 5000 American die, Americans think it is the end of the world.

Just an observation I have learned to be disgusted with.
That may be truth, broseppi. But it's hardly unique to the U.S.

My greater objection around those incidents is that media coverage of world events is so poorly received here, re-enforcing such insular thinking, that 5,000 dead in Rwanda wouldn't even register while an American tourist being an idiot in Singapore would get front page billing for having his ass caned.

Guess what, I realised that on the 12th of september 2001. And I got bashed for it for years on this forum. When it comes down to it, most people do really believe that Americans are worth more. That's simply the way it is.

The Iraq war alone has not only cost so many unnecessary lives and bad will from the rest of the world (and blocking our ability to get international anti-terrorist cooperation), but it's so far cost every man, woman, and child in this country $1,500 apiece. Tax cut nothing.

And the great irony is that by grossly inflating the U.S. debt to record levels and essentially pushing our nation's credit rating closer to junk bond status, the U.S. dollar has plummeted in market value on the world market as a greater risk. And thus, Bush has essentially aided the terrorists by ensuring that their foreign funding sources go further against the declining U.S. dollar.

As for immigration reform, that's just a smokescreen for the real problems in this country.
It's not exactly the first time the US gave terrorists a hand.

I could not agree with that statement more. I do not hate America in the least but it is sickening to see the kind of emphasis that they place on themselves. I have been saying this time and time again but the U.S.A. needs to realise that there is a world outside themselves. Too bad that they can't really see themselves the way that some other countries would see them. Each life is equally important.

I was reading the Moment of Clarity Thread again and having read yet another article about muslim extremism this morning it struck me that I myself know a lot of muslims who I'd label extremists. It surprised me again to see how members such as Hambon or Zé Tahir slagged me off for doubting God's existence. I was even called an extremist myself a couple of times because I admitted to be agnostic. When I compare the muslims I know with the christians I know, I must admit that the threat of muslim terrorism just might scare even me.

That said I'm still, like most of you, not very fond of the whole war on terror though.
